That's exactly what he's saying and I totally understood. But, how much bigger can that fight gets? I doubt it'd do 2 million PPV buys if Canelo beats Cotto first. Even after beating Cotto, Mayweather-Alvarez would still do between 1.4-1.8 PPV buys, great numbers, but not record-breaking PPV buys.

heck, some say Bradley beat PAC and what did that get him?

      back on free HBO

if Showtime can crack 1mil buys vs Guerrero and Floyd got his guarantee, i really dont see why we have to delay
alot of people think he was Floyd's toughest fight in 5 years. Some others actually think Trout beat Canelo and Cotto still did solid against Trout. Cotto isnt Mosley. He's not that washed up.

i already know mayweather not in his prime but he looked good so far and one year isn't going to hurt him. It'll be the biggest fight I can remember. And on May 3rd it'll be a monster. I mean huge!

canelo beats cotto then Angulo/Lara and this fight might be biggest PPV ever. Canelo will be certain legit with those wins. Cotto just a feather I know but it'll build him

It won't be the "biggest fight ever" until Canelo fights and/or beats Floyd.

Cotto/Lara/Angulo don't propel you to superstardom like Oscar/Manny/Floyd can.

Canelo will have his fans regardless, and whoever knows him now, will probably still know him when he fights Floyd.

            Make the fight happen!

He is a superstar. Oh yeah he is.

As for the bold that's what I'm saying. He beats these guys then fights Floyd next May it'll be the biggest fight. Never said "ever" cause some old schoolers had some big fights but biggest PPV I will say that.

Beating Cotto/Lara/Angulo bring nothing to the table in terms of PPV sales. PRs/Cubans/Mexicans/Americans already know Floyd, and already know Canelo.

There's no more building up needed. Canelo beating Pac/Oscar on his way to a Floyd fight would tremendously help his status grow, but not Cotto/Lara/Angulo.

To us hardcore fans, yes, we'll be on this site saying, "OMFG, Canelo is a bad mutha fugga!", but that doesn't equal anymore PPV sales.

The fights big enough. Let's get it on.

yeah right...canelo should get more wins, get his name bigger before fighting floyd blah blah blah...like there's no big demand for that fight now.

you wait till canelo gets bigger in terms of popularity and he will ask for a purse double of what he will ask right now. and then what? you floyd apologists will say he priced himself out and therefore floyd doesn't need to fight him.

more exposure does mean more PPV sales. Don't get me wrong if it happens in Sept then I'm all for it. Look At my avi. I'm a canelo fan but he has one good win and this would give him three and much more marketable. To me the fight in Sept it would be big but next May it would be a monster event.

floyd can duck canelo if he wants but that will just reinforce/augment his cherry picking ducker status.

floyd and flowmoes cannot escape the fact that he is a 2x current 154lb champion yet doesnt want to fight canelo.

they cannot escape those facts. we see his ppv numbers take a dip this last go around, it will drop even further if he doesnt fight canelo.
