The Floyd Mayweather Jr. master discussion thread. Post here, do not make new threads

I've just spent two days deleting pointless spam from these forums. Let me caution you. I would think twice before creating a FMJ thread if you still want to post here. If it's about the fight, post in the master thread at the top of the page. If not, post it here or find another Floyd thread or you'll find yourself banned.

Let me get this right, Guerrero is a cherry pick, but Pacquiao who hasn't won in almost 2 years is legit contender, where the phhkkk do you some of you get your logic from?

Mayweather can easily fight into his 40s

The guy stays fit, gym rat, and never balloons up in weight. He's not messing around doing hard drugs or an alcoholic AND he's a fresh 36 with no damage. All the greats in the pasts start losing a step when they're out doing drugs and drinking heavily, like Chavez, Whitaker, Leonard, De La Hoya, Tyson, and the list goes on. Mayweather keeps to his boxing lifestyle, he's not losing for awhile.

Once his speed and reflexes go, he's not going to be the same.

He's truly the pound for pound King. Saul Alvarez vs. Floyd Mayweather in September.

just watched the fight again, rob was landing some good shots for the first 5 rounds. one thing that totally killed his chances of getting the score cards a little closer was his inability to gauge distance. mayweather was always at the exact same spacing when he threw the right hand lead and guerrero never caught on to what that distance was.

guerrero honestly isn't as good as I thought he was, technically speaking. being able to gauge distance is something you learn in the ams, you just get better with time. mayweather's handspeed alone should've had guerrero keeping his face better protected when mayweather was at the distance where he could connect the straight right hand. floyd didn't even change it up when throwing that punch, it was way too easy for him. he had a much harder time landing that punch on Cotto (granted it was against a guy fighting out of an orthodox stance, but that didn't stop him from landing it on DLH or Hatton), because Cotto gauged distance much better and kept his face protected much better than what Robert did, Mayweather made the adjustment against Cotto and threw mostly hooks around the guard when he realized he couldn't land the straight right hand. he didn't have to make any adjustment against guerrero because he couldn't tell when Floyd was in range to throw it. really poor defense and ring IQ, something I've given guerrero credit for in the past. in all honestly, he isn't as good as I gave him credit for. maybe the stage was just too big, lights just too bright for him
