Body is excellent at modulating the carbohydrate usage (it controls insulin levels very well). Body wants to use all the carbs that one takes. It's also more likely that carbs will be stored as muscle or liver glycogen than a fat in fat cells.

To have 300 gr of unspent gycogen you would need to take a huge amounts of carbs (700-800gr per day) and almost none fats.
The body only has a limited amount of glycogen to store, I take back the 300 grams, I checked that number and it was more of 400 grams ... so If you already have your muscles filled with glycogen then the body will start to convert carbs into fat via glycolysis.

And lipogenesis will start if you eat a lot of carbs. Why? Because when you eat carbs the glycolysis process will start, which will create certain subproducts, including acetyl-CoA, which will be used by lipogenesis to create fat.

And these 400gr are above the amount that you spend on a daily basis as carbs are the first thing body wants to spend. So we are looking at something more like 800gr of carbs for an average man. And this is for multiple days.

        Practically it won't happen.

You must not forget that glycogen is not depleted if you're not using it, so the glycogen stored in the muscles is going to stay there.

So if the next day after you filled your muscles and liver with glycogen then the body will start taking first free glucose as an energy source, then it will try to store it as glycogen, but as your muscles and liver already have stored amounts of glycogen then it will start to transform into fat.

Also if we're talking about sedentary people then the levels of glucose required by the body are going to be very low, therefore making the body use a lot more of free glucose instead of glycogen, and then again starting the process of converting glucose into fat.

And again, eating carbs will start glycolysis which will start lipogenesis which will create fat.

            • Why do guys who drink a lot of beer develop a "beer gut"? There is virtually no fat in beer, only carbs, water, and ethyl alcohol.

But everybody is using muscles - even sedentary people. If you are regular guy (walk to your garage, go to shop, walk around), you'll use it.

If you're talking about, as I said, a massive amounts of carbs every day (800+ gr) and on top of that you are not using it, of course you can get in stage of lipogenesis. But speaking about normal active people (not athletes) that won't happen.
