He's coming off a big money fight, off a guy that he easily handled for 11.5 rounds. A stay busy fight is in between big fights, not 8 months after your last fight, thats not staying busy. Rosado wasnt a stay busy fight either
well, martinez had to take that bullshit and keep moving forward towards his goal. golovkin just made his american/hbo debut almost 7 months ago. how long did it take martinez to get his big fights? it's unfortunate that it takes some fighters a while for them to get those big fights, but that's the way it goes sometimes. there's nothing you or i can do about it. it's up to golovkin's promoters and handlers to keep on pushing him until they reach their goal. you act like no one ever ducked martinez during his come up.
Martinez goal was chasing a big money fight with a fighter who at first wasnt a top guy. It was the champ chasing a contender. Golovkin is a contender chasing the champ. Sergio was avoided, and was only given a chance because he was considered an easy opponent on short notice after Williams-Pavlik couldnt be made. Coincidently He got a shot at Williams 9 months after his HBO debut and then got a shot at the MW champ immediately after that

And there shouldnt be a problem with the top MWs to step up and fight Golovkin either, yet you're not calling for it

        http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/box...ring-2013.html

barker was injured for a while and decided to have an easy return against kerry hope. from there, i think hearn made the excuse about golovkin not bringing enough money for them to take the fight.
So how does that excuse him turning down Golovkin for Sept and fighting Alcine instead for $50K?

And how does being mentioned for a guy who's months away from finding out about his suspension even make sense? Its been almost 4 months since that article and he hasnt fought or even have an opponent and isnt confirmed to be Chavez' next opponent either

others that can be considered are vera and rubio. not sure what they're planning to do, but both were once talked about for a chavez fight. what i mean is hbo and k2 should put some serious offers on the table to the guys who don't get the chavez fight to entice them on taking the hbo fight with golovkin.
Only one guy is fighting Chavez, and it'll probably be Vera (hopefully, to eliminate that option). Macklin already passed on Chavez due to 164 CW. None of these guys should be passing on MW title shots on HBO, its not like they got tons of money options. I'm sure Hearn will try to line up Geale for Barker, but doubt that's HBO BAD main event money for anyone. Even Sturm may no longer be able to bring in that kind of purse anymore.

perhaps stay busy wasn't the right word. maybe "easy" is more like it. you can't tell me rosado and ishida weren't seen as "easy" fights for golovkin. this murray fight is the same imo. so rosado wasn't a stay busy fight, it was an actual defense? what did rosado do to earn his shot at the wba and ibo MW titles?
as for chavez, he was basically the no. 1/2 MW after destroying lee and going into the martinez fight. there were a lot of people expecting a chavez win in that one. martinez clearly suffered injuries in that fight. you honestly want him to go straight into a golovkin bout after coming off surgery? i bet if it was the other way, you would be defending golovkin taking a murray fight after surgery.
at 154, didn't vernon forrest get stripped for not wanting to fight martinez? so besides williams, he didn't have any luck at 154. what did he do then? yeah, i think williams was an avoided fighter as well. he got lucky with that williams opportunity. the only guy that can give golovkin a similar opportunity like williams gave martinez is chavez. martinez is already fighting murray this month and won't be fighting again until the end of the year.
like i said, it's really up to k2 and hbo to put money on the table to get these other fighters (pirog, macklin, rubio, barker, and geale) to consider taking a fight with golovkin.

where did macklin say he passed on the chavez fight? i haven't seen any reports on that. i'm also not sure chavez is fighting above 160. i'm pretty sure his father and roach said they're staying at MW. i don't remember how long ago the article i read was posted, but i remember reading macklin, barker, vera and some guy named lorenzo were in the running for chavez. nothing has been reported about declines or signed fights when looking it up right now. all i can say is nothing is signed yet (for any MW fights), so golovkin and his people still have the opportunity of getting someone like barker, geale, vera, macklin, or rubio in june. they just need to make a good offer. all these men are prizefighters. that's what they fight for, money.

why doesnt golovkin and his team make a ward fight?? that might be the best fight available for both guys rite now. and i know for sure hbo would support it and ward seems to totally be down for it.

Dumb thread. Why should GGG try anything? He is a champion and should get unifications/ top contenders. Can somebody start a fight GGG petition.
