And that was a bull**** excuse by Arum to avoid fighting Sergio for his own belt for like 2 years
Sergio moved up from 147 to 154 to 160, why are you so afraid of a one division jump for Golovkin when he has already beaten guys there?

the thing is they have those options right now. both barker and macklin are in the running for a chavez fight. are you telling me they will make more money fighting golovkin than chavez? barker's promoter said it best, he's there to make barker the most money available.
others that can be considered are vera and rubio. not sure what they're planning to do, but both were once talked about for a chavez fight. what i mean is hbo and k2 should put some serious offers on the table to the guys who don't get the chavez fight to entice them on taking the hbo fight with golovkin.

It is very sad to push guy to 168 when he didn't get any chance at 160.
He never fought at 168 - as far as I know.

If Martinez ducks him he should look for other top guys. Someone will..

He moved up because he outgrew the division. When he did move the first time, it took him only 7 years to fight anyone with a pulse

What was the problem with them taking the Golovkin fight in Jan? Rubio Turned down the Jan to fight complete nobodies, Vera was turned down by HBO and will probably be the opponent in june along with Macklin.

Macklin and Barker were just mentioned as possible chavez opponents 2 weeks ago, so them bailing on Golovkin before that is not an excuse. How is it K2's responsibility when these guys have their own promoter. Its funny how Golovkin isnt big enough when the promoters who say that have fighters who arent even as big as golovkin

And that was a bull**** excuse by Arum to avoid fighting Sergio for his own belt for like 2 years. Same with Angulo and Cotto but they were in another division. Are you saying its Sergio's fault for not fighting them?
if you have time, you can look at my older posts. not once did i ever say "murray is big enough". i've always said martinez took this murray fight because it's an easy fight for him to have in his returnm(after surgery). he's coming off a big fight and is deciding to defend his old belt in his native country. wasn't rosado and ishida both stay busy fights? can't martinez take one?

well, martinez had to take that bullshit and keep moving forward towards his goal. golovkin just made his american/hbo debut almost 7 months ago. how long did it take martinez to get his big fights? it's unfortunate that it takes some fighters a while for them to get those big fights, but that's the way it goes sometimes. there's nothing you or i can do about it. it's up to golovkin's promoters and handlers to keep on pushing him until they reach their goal. you act like no one ever ducked martinez during his come up.

rubio is a clown, i'm not defending his actions. as for macklin, i could have sworn i read something about eye problems with him, i'm not sure. you're incorrect about what you said last though. macklin has been talked about as chavez's opponent as soon as he lost. here's an article post in december about it.

barker was injured for a while and decided to have an easy return against kerry hope. from there, i think hearn made the excuse about golovkin not bringing enough money for them to take the fight.

Golovkin hits like a heavyweight and has a granite chin, plus he fought some of the 168 fighters in the AM'S right??so there should be no problem at all
