Going to 168 and just showing up as his regular self would be awesome. IDK if you saw him, but tommy gun was ringside at the fight and said he would be on HBO in June. IDK what that is worth now because Arum threw out Macklin, who seemed reluctant for June. I agree a move up to fight an undefeated would be a good fight, and adds to the mythology he's trying to build. Not really a gimmie fight either. Macklin is cool too

The main reason Tommy was there was that the show was run by a South African promoter. The commentators were SA, one of whom was Brian Mitchell. But it would be awesome if they were setting up that fight.

He hasnt been "waiting", he was being sidelined to protect Sturm. He had no options to do anything except attempt to break free, which he finally did and his first fight free was in Dec of 2011, which was less then 9 months before he fought Proksa. Now he wants the top fight but the top fighters dont want it. But he needs to "follow in haglers footsteps. destroy everyone and anyone u get your hands on. do that and he'll be noticed", right? Thats your exact quote from the other thread but you're calling on golovkin to move up instead.

I was wondering what he was doing there lol, these guys live the life just traveling around to random cards. Well, if not GGG then I wonder who he will fight on HBO in June, unless someone is just feeding him BS. I don't think Ward would be ready yet so I couldn't think of a fight for him that would be HBO worthy

They brought him in for some commentary, he said like one sentence. It was totally a South African flavor event, they honored Mitchell + another SA retired guy i forget + SA ref Stanley Christodoulou, together with Hagler who loved to be back in Monte Carlo for some boxing.

They could be setting him up for GGG's undercard, who knows? Since LDB promotes Macklin, and wanted him to headline, maybe that was his undercard slot, provided Macklin signed.
