Paulie Malignaggi said how Floyd started to sell fights - by fighting Gatti, De La Hoya and Hatton. Before Gatti FMJ couldn't sell tickets himself despite being in the same position as Ward as one of the best out there.

I wouldnt be surprised at all if he played that card. I remember leading up to the Ortiz fight he was asked a question on facing Amir Khan in the future and he was like 'aaaaa who?'. Ortiz was no where near as big as Khan than and he fought on the undercard of Khan's fights before, yet he claims he never knew the guy. Probably sour over khan winning silver at a younger age lol

For a guy that people make fun of for his repetitive phrases, Mayweather gives some of the best interviews! Who knew he was about to rip into Ward, he even took Ben Thompson by surprise. I can't get mad at anybody for telling it like they see it, and besides Ward was free to speak his mind on Floyd, so why is there a problem when the favor is returned?

Lost in the sauce is Robert Guerrero, who seems to be the least of Floyd's concerns right now. I get the feeling he's coming to destroy the Ghost this fight.

Something rubbed WBC welterweight Floyd Mayweather Jr. the wrong way. During a recent interview with Fighthype.com, Mayweather took several shots at Andre Ward, the WBC/WBA super middleweight champion. Mayweather first took offense with Ward's nickname, S.O.G. [Son of God].

"He calls himself S.O.G. If I'm not mistaken, that stands for Son of God. Last time I checked, we're all God's children. When one fighter is facing another fighter, God don't choose sides. What's going to happen in life is going to happen. Everything is already planned out. Listen man, if you're going to be a pastor, go to church. If you're going to be a reverend, go to church. If you're going to be a boxer, be a boxer. I mean, one minute, they want to say all this S.O.G. stuff, and the next minute, they wanna go put tattoos on they body. I ain't never seen a pastor boxing. Well he picked him for that purpose. It wasn't Trout, Canelo, Pacquiao or Martinez he signed to fight. 'all about being smart', isn't that what he said?

Yes and at no time did I feel Bika could beat Ward.

To be honest the only way Ward loses at this point is if he goes up to HW and faces a Klitschko or something.

That has something to do with the competition at 168 and 175 though, right? There's not as many P4P level threats around there to give anyone a thought that Ward will lose soon.

You can almost tell by reading this that Floyd is crying on the inside.

Poor little Andre is a better fighter than him and will fight anyone and now Floyd is uncomfortable.

Floyd ducked the hottest fighters in the hottest division.......Ward saw the challenges and made 168 his personal toilet.

We also know his million and one excuses not to fight guys like Margarito and Pacquaio.....but to be honest the most disturbing was the excuses not to fight PWilliams.

FWIW, you would never hear Andre make an excuse not to fight someone. He is a real fighter, a true throwback and what the sport of boxing needs. That bothers Floyd and you can see that in this interview.

This is not it at all. He's saying "ward you are a good fighter but u are being severly underpaid." He sees the talent in ward but doesn't understand why he hasn't blown up yet. He's saying come see how to get paid for risking your life. Do u guys really not see that?

popularity has nothing to do with it. writers vote on who they think is the best. using multiple voters controls for individual biasies. ward deserves some votes as #1 and gets them. But individual p4p rankings are much less valid.

GP is slang for just because. as in floyd expects other black fighters to support him just because he's black, which is silly.

GP standings for general purpose...
