The nonsense about having the blueprint of how to sell-out arenas is just that, nonsense.

Paulie Malignaggi said how Floyd started to sell fights - by fighting Gatti, De La Hoya and Hatton. Before Gatti FMJ couldn't sell tickets himself despite being in the same position as Ward as one of the best out there.

Floyd would tell you he's never heard of those guys. George..who?

The dude's an amazing fighter, but you gotta admit, fighting in Vegas would be a good move for him. Especially at this point in his career with all he's accomplished.
He sold 7,500 tickets and did a $750,000 gate in his last fight in Oakland. I don't think he does close to that in Vegas.

His only shot at headlining a successful PPV and generating a $1 million gate would be to fight Chavez Jr. at some point. But that highly depends on if Chavez Jr. decides to get serious.

Maybe Ward can help him accept Jesus? Then they could join forces with Pacquiao and set up a Jesus/Boxing school, a bit like what happens at the end of Zoolander.

That's why Floyd is mad....along with the fact that Ward picked Guerrero over him.

Williams, Margarito, Pacquiao, Johnston and the list goes on....are several fighters that Floyd flat out refused to fight. Now looking at Ward....this guy will fight anyone and is what the sport needs right now.

Me criticizing him for fighting his first fights in Oakland during the SS tourney doesn't take away from him as a fighter and his accomplishments.....but good job trying to deflect,
deflect what. my 1st post in the thread said floyd is jealous over the gold medal and thinks ward should support him just because hes black.

your opinion about floyd facing the best is biased and has nothing to do with this thread.

If you say ward will fight anyone-but I swear you were saying he ducked Bute along with the complaints about oakland-those specific posts about him fighting everyone in this thread full of **** and contradictory.

your comments don't take away from what either has accomplished.

Floyd ducked the hottest fighters in the hottest division.......Ward saw the challenges and made 168 his personal toilet.

Floyd "I'll never fight Paul Williams....he's too goofy"

We also know his million and one excuses not to fight guys like Margarito and Pacquaio.....but to be honest the most disturbing was the excuses not to fight PWilliams.

FWIW, you would never hear Andre make an excuse not to fight someone. He is a real fighter, a true throwback and what the sport of boxing needs. That bothers Floyd and you can see that in this interview.

too what extent are those "challenges" for ward being he's always fighting in his backyard?

I would love for Floyd to come to NYC. The Cotto fight was the perfect opportunity

              But oh taxes *derp*

              Just come to NYC Floyd...

I've heard worse suggestions. They've got to do something to open up his heart and show him it isn't shameful to feel vulnerable.

I think most criticized the fact he fought his first 3 fights of the SS in Oakland (which was fair criticism given the context) but when he went to AC and beat Froch on neutral ground that went out the door.
no i'm holding you accountable for previous posts about ward because i figured posters like you would switch up. but freedom didnt and you didnt so i cant say anything else.

I think he could do it with the right promotion. Not sure if he's ever fought in Vegas, but if they promote it right it could be big. Especially if he becomes the new P4P #1. They just need to hype him up some and give him a quality opponent. A Ward-Froch rematch if Froch beats Kessler could lend itself to that sort of promotion to put the fight in Vegas. Yeah, Ward beats him again, but the intrigue to see these two fight again would be big.

You know, I ain't never seen no sandwich maker box. He should leave the sandwich makin' to sandwich makers like Floyd Mayweather does. You know, he got all them sandwiches but I don't know who he is. Adrien Broner's better known than George Foreman and he ain't ever made no sandwich."
