Vitali's legacy

Vitali would have been a force in any era, that's common knowledge. That's a given and doesn't need to even be discussed.
The thread is about giving an opinion on whether he is an ATG or not.
I think he is and you think he isn't. Not a big deal.Comment

Since when? Who has he proved that against exactly? Peter? Briggs? lolComment

I see dudes get dogged all the time that have way better accomplishments than Vitali.
Seriously what in the grand scheme of boxing history has he done, what fight am I going to tell my kids about that he won? Even if my kids turned in to bigger boxing heads than me I would expect them to say "huh, Who?" when talking about Vitali's best wins .
I mean seriously and I am not even a big time resume guy in determining greatness but you have to beat some reasonably noteworthy guys, not all that is his fault and Vitali is a very good fighter who I am sure could compete with some very quality heavyweight names but he has had a long career and what does he really have to show for it legacy wise that compares in any way favorable to any great heavyweight.Comment

Probably. But lets be fair, ive backed up my reasons for Vits not being an ATG and provided lists for why including my own ATG list, plus lists of Vits best wins and top ten rated contenders he didnt fight for one reason or another. On the other end you have guys like Bat and Weltschmerz who provide NOTHING but ridicule everyone else.Comment
