You don't think it's a bit a harsh considering he boxed the ears off marg and gave floyd his toughest test for years
not really margo is not hard to box, and cotto was looking like he was gonna be in serious trouble if it wasnt for that stoppage, and against mayweather it is rumored that he was (mayweather) exteremly sick.
Now i know these are excuses and what not but if they are true, it kinda explains cotto success and writes it off at the same time.
I think Margarito and Pac beat the prime outta him. He's been past-prime ever since, but I think the rematch against Margarito allowed him to exorcise his demons. I think Cotto can still be competitive, but 154 just isn't the best weight class for his physical attributes.
Cotto isn't shot. I guess people don't see with their eyes & hear with their ears anymore. Cotto has taken on the best fighters in his weight class for most of his career. He was beaten half to death by a shady fighter in Margarito, 2 if you count Pacman & the peds accusations, (I don't).
And he's still given a decent account of himself even after those hellacious beatings. He looked damn good in 2 losing efforts vs Floyd, ( universally recognized as no less than the sports 2nd best fighter) & an Austin Trout that is clearly bigger than 5-9 & apart of the 154 linu-up that's ducked by 1 spoon-fed diva kid.

Boxed?, On the rematch Cotto ran the whole fight. Margarito was turning up the heat, you could see Cotto fading in the last round, when he walks to his corner, he was tired and wary
