  • Is it possible cotto ain't shot?

    Just thinkin what if he didnt take trout 100% serious or might have found it hard to get up for that fight.im looking forward to see his next fight to really judge him

    Nope he shot.

    Plus he fighting at a weight class he too small for but he too lazy to make 147 so Its only going to get worse for him.

      Cotto's stamina will always fail him against guys that will push him to the limit. It's goes back to how he trains. To me his workouts just seems to lack intensity and it translates into his fights. Especially late in fights. Not to mention I still believe he should be fighting at 147 but is too lazy to lose extra weight.

        he's not shot like roy "jiggly brain" jones jr he's just lazy. why do you think he fights at 154 and has love handles? he doesn't take boxing seriously and that's why i don't take him seriously. he was beating trout and floyd when he pressured them but stopped doing that and got picked off because his stamina and training let him down.

          You don't think it's a bit a harsh considering he boxed the ears off marg and gave floyd his toughest test for years

            Cotto is overrated.

            There are always excuses when he loses.

            Lets face it. Everytime the guy stepped up, he lost.

            Margarito = Lost
            Pacquiao = Lost
            Mayweather = Lost
            Trout (who is barely world class) = Lost

            Cotto's best win is past prime Mosley

              what moron thinks hes shot?

              the man is past his prime for sure, but he still has something left in the tank. he is certainly nowhere near shot.

                Wouldnt call him shot but he's past prime and doesnt put his work in, which is why he's fighting at 154.

                Cotto is a WW, and should have stayed there

                  imo cotto is one of those fighters who can re vitalize themselves...

                  he could have chosen an equal or lesser opponent and won

                    Well one things for sure, he isn't ever gonna go back to the best Cotto we've seen no matter what happens from now on.

                    He's taken some bad beatings, beatings that would cause a toll on any fighter, so by no means can he considered prime or at his best.

                    But is it is possible that he isn't shot? Most certainly. I mean just look at his performance against Mayweather. It showed he still has something to offer. The Trout fight could simply be due to the clash in styles. Styles make fights. I know the preferred route by many of this forum is just to use triangle theories and make definitive judgements by using the amount of losses they see on Boxrec/Wiki however those are proven not to work, and time and time again these people seem to overlook that styles make fights.

                    Maybe the Trout loss was due to a clash in styles, a clash in styles that Cotto would struggle even at his best? It's possible. Personally i don't think he's shot, but then i don't think he's near his best. He still has enough in him to stick around and fight a few more fights IMO, but not much.

                    I wouldn't personally say he's shot, but i would say he's past his prime.
