no one can read FLoyds mind and people dont even know if Floyd contemplates Sergio at 160. But it shows what Floyd is up against. Beating Sergio at 160 dont guarantee Floyd anything, as Sergio although one of the best now, isnt historically anything too special.

So while floyd is cherry picking his next opponent he needs to think seriously about things.

sure he is but he does'nt have the resume that would bump a fighter from a top 50 atg to top 10 if you beat him .. actaully he's resume is only good for a couple of years...or fights

        No, no way.

I'd probably have him Top 25-30 range if he beat Martinez.

There's nothing he can do to be a Top 10 ATG. Nothing at all. Especially now Pacquaio is gone.

There's really nobody out there right now, and there never was anyone out there, for Floyd to beat that would give him a spot in the top 10 All Time Great list. At least if we're talking about a serious one.

He could have beaten 2010-2011, Pacquiao, current Middleweight king Martinez at 154-160, Cotto at 147 in 2007, Margarito at 147 in 2006, let's throw in Guerrero and Canelo in there as well. Still, he does not get in the top 10 or 15 ATG list.

If Hopkins was still at 160 and Floyd fought and beat him there, i'd say that win would have been better than all of the above put together. And i'm not even a Hopkins nuthugger. Some might think it's unfair, but that is "Floyd Standard", and even I, a big Floyd fan, go by it myself.

But it would be a great win for Floyd, and unarguably his best win. He wouldnt be able to be the butt of jokes for a lot of people, and people would have to give Floyd his dues, no matter how much ducking and diving out of the ring floyd has done.

So Floyd should take the fight and what will be will be, dont think too much about where it puts him historically.

And there never was anything he could do, realistically speaking. No, not even a win over Pacquiao.

One thing though, if Floyd had gone from 140 to 154 to fight Winky Wright like it was being discussed back when he was a Top Rank fighter and Bob Arum would use his infamous tactic of using names of good fighters to hype up his fighters[Cotto, Margarito, Pacquiao], that win would have been up there as probably his best win, even better than Corrales and Castillo. Unfortunately, like always, Bob Arum was only bluffing and was just using Winky's name to hype up Floyd. Again, like I said, just how he then used Floyd's name to hype up Margarito, Cotto, Pacquiao one by one.

No fighter from this era can make Top 10.

                  Thought that was common knowledge.

What would you have thought of Pacquiao beating Martinez at 150? Great win, right?

And Dawson hadn't make 168 in 7 years. Martinez was there about 3 years ago, and still comes in at 157-158 for the weigh ins for his MW fights.

Winky should have called his bluff instead of doing his usual and walking away from a career high pay day.

But yeah, even a win over Pacquaio and Martinez wouldn't have put him in the Top 10 I agree but it's even less likely now for obvious reasons.
