Canelo holding a title while refusing to fight a legit JMW contender for the longest.

Mikey refusing to fight with a broken hooter for even one round.

these youthful leading lights covering the new gen in glory, ooh yeah.

Let me preface this by saying i didnt watch the fight....

That said, a broken nose? In boxing/fighting? You dont say?

A broken nose is never a reason to quit…so it came as a result of a foul? Fine.....foul him back. Just dont try to blow your nose.

Inb4 this turns into a mexican vs. Puerto rican warior thread, as miguel cotto fought through adversity caused by a foul with joshua clottey. Yeah.....i just went there. Trollface.jpg

          and bingo was his name.

that is a professional attitude. that is what a coach will tell you to do.

Garcia is just one representation of the new generation. He's the solid technician/counter-puncher with game-changing power and (too much) patience. He just doesn't have a killer instinct and still needs to develop an inside game. He might be lacking on the toughness side of things, but that's why we have fighters like Rios/Rosado.

the title of the thread wasn't a categorical statement on the current bunch of guys coming through, btw. it might as well have said, 'Garcia was representing the new gen tonight (and didn't do it proud)'. i'm saying that incidents like this involving leading lights and highly regarded talents do not bode well.

The amount of 'fans of the sport' that are trying to justify stopping a fight for something as commonplace as a broken nose is truly disgusting to me. The truly piteous thing about it all is that the justifications are coming from posters who are blatant c*cksuckers of fighters who routinely headbutt, throw elbows and forearms, and wrestle their opponets to death.

I post this in this thread specifically because it seems that the rest of the threads are overflowing with emotional fanboys who wear a 'Kotex' and seemingly forgot that this was a sport based upon making your opponet suffer as much as you physically can.

                  Jesus Christ this is depressing.

i guess the 'Garcia's Dad' type of fan wouldn't have given Mayweather so much grief over the Ortiz fight if he'd quit after the intentional headbutt. after all, it was obvious that Mayweather perceived some injury to his person from the way he was dabbing at his lip, he was ahead on the cards, the noble action that night would have been to wait until the end of the round before quitting and claiming a fully earned victory, rather than continue and give Ortiz an advantage and the opportunity to foul him further.

instead, the cowardly Mayweather behaved like a prizefighter once the official waved time in and ruthlessly knocked his neglectful opponent out. the 'Garcia's Dad' type of fan calls that a 'sucker punch' (even though no such thing exists in boxing, by definition) and chides Mayweather for his disgraceful show of professionalism.
