Seemed to me that Salido did it intentionally, too.
He was rushing in with the old Hopkins and Holyfield trick of leading with the head, but after the punch grazed off of Mikey's face it looked as if Salido wrapped his hand around the back of Mikey's neck and held him there for the follow up headbutt.
He appeared to be holding behind the neck with his right hand to me.Comment

except he didn't feel up to finishing the job, or giving it a go for even a single round, because he had a broken schnozz.
which kinda takes some of the gloss off all the good work he did.Comment

It's not good in the sense that Robert Garcia seemed to have tonight invented the idea that you can end a fight because of a broken nose.anyone's free to venture their opinion of where the fight was headed (interesting that the quit coincided with Salido's best period of the fight, though), but it's hardly the point.
i'll call it a quit, 'cause that's what it was.
it's not a good forbode for the future of this sport. just admit it.
But you're trying to say it encapsulates the new generation of fighters who quit. Which it doesn't. Have you forgotten the fight before?
And trust me. Mikey is made of the right stuff. Anyone can see that.Comment

Gabe Rosado is the future of this sport? first i heard of it.It's not good in the sense that Robert Garcia seemed to have tonight invented the idea that you can end a fight because of a broken nose.

except you're not putting yourself in Mikey's shoes. You're setting up Orlando to possibly get a KO he doesn't deserve.
What's worse?
Stopping the fight after you get your nose broken by an illegal move when you are winning the fight by a long shot or winning a fight because you headbutted a guy after he dominated you with his boxing skills?
If Orlando had gone on to win that fight because of that headbutt then would you say the better fighter had won?
If you think yes, then you clearly aren't a fan of Boxing, just a fan of brutality.Comment
