I believe Canelo would win by a KO or TKO.
Canelo does have some inconsistent things in his game; such as fighting in spurts, not excellent foot work, and his head movement is slow. Besides that he has huge power in his punch, speed, very composed, nice combinations, and heart.
I believe when Cotto gets caught and gets hurt; Canelo will pressure him and finish Cotto off!

Lets not get carried away, he was out boxing Margarito that was it. Margarito eye got inflammed like everyone knew it was gonna do before the fight. If anything Cotto looked the most beat down and had the body langauge of a knee taker in that last round before the stoppage.

With May weather he did better then we all thought. Great performance, but toughest fight of mayweather life. I have to say castillo did that. Yes i know mayweather arm was injured.

The last round of that fight was one of the best round Cotto had in the fight. So I don't know what you are talking about.

I think the poll is pretty accurate. Canelo's best chance is to pressure and stop Cotto, because Cotto has the skill/experience to out-box him. Maybe Canelo can catch Cotto with a counter. Canelo's chin/endurance/stamina is still questionable, and Cotto has respectable pop, so maybe he can hurt Canelo.

Toss up fight.

I agree but have to say that the reason its so close is because Cotto is an old lion while Canelo is a young lion.

I agree that Cotto was not beating the crap out of Margarito and yesCotto was out boxing him (I was in the Garden with some pretty good seats) As for Cotto
ready to take a knee (I think not) and anyone that still harps on that questionable win of Cheato with pride is (most likely from south of the border) and has a biased opinion. The people in the Garden were yelling to let that fight continue...they wanted to see Cheato hurt. Believe me those shots Cheato were taking were taking its toll and he was smiling and nodding for show.

Cotto is world class talent fighting the best in the world for years. Cotto would knock him out within 4 rounds. This fight is a mismatch
