Since he may be working with Sr., people only know his best piece of art, and that's FMJ.
With that in mind, people will expect Sr.'s work to produce a miracle, thus being too much mental pressure on Victor to show improvement.
Pressure is not Victor's game, he always folds. He performs best when he's almost written off by the public. That extra pressure of knowing that he was going to fight Canelo (had he beaten Lopez), may have been too much.
Again, Ortiz fights best when he puts pressure on himself before almost being written off, NOT when the public, opponents, (or people close to him) puts pressure on him.
