The skills that Floyd Sr teaches has to be taught at a young age.
The only thing bad about working with Sr. is that Sr. has bad health doesn't he? Is he even capable of training fighters anymore?

Since he may be working with Sr., people only know his best piece of art, and that's FMJ.
With that in mind, people will expect Sr.'s work to produce a miracle, thus being too much mental pressure on Victor to show improvement.
Pressure is not Victor's game, he always folds. He performs best when he's almost written off by the public. That extra pressure of knowing that he was going to fight Canelo (had he beaten Lopez), may have been too much.
Again, Ortiz fights best when he puts pressure on himself before almost being written off, NOT when the public, opponents, (or people close to him) puts pressure on him.
Mayweather Sr gave Oscar De La Hoya his right hand and his improved defense. Oscar only looked like **** in the ring when he would get tired, that's the only time he would begin to get hit. He always looked great in the first 4-6 rounds.
Not only that but seeing how Ricky Hatton fought throughout his career and then to see how he fought Paulie was actually really ****ing cool. No one's ever seen "Hatton" slip and counter until that fight. He even stunned Paulie a couple times.
But the fall out that Hatton and Sr. had raises questions. Hatton blames Sr. for not training him thoroughly and Sr. blames Hatton for not doing what he's told.
There's only a few negatives I can think about when training with the Mayweathers.
Mayweathers in general are like Male Drama queens. There's always some male PMS going on.
The shoulder roll: So many dynamics to a successful shoulder roll, for one you have to be able to fight with your forearm out and be able to hide your head behind you shoulder successfully. The shorter the kneck and broader the shoulders helps.
When Sr tried to get Oscar to do the shoulder he failed miserably. Oscar practiced it during the Gatti fight only to still get hit with Gatti's crazy hooks and hayemakers. Oscar had a chin though so it didn't matter ultimately, but you can see how ineffective and dangerous the shoulder roll can be for some fighters.
Also Ortiz doesn't fight like a fast handed fighter. He's at his best when he's landing well timed power shots. He has the power that can end **** quickly with surprise, but when he starts spazzing out with his basic punches he loses his element of surprise and just gets counter-brawled until he starts eating punches like cheeseburgers and before you know it Ortiz is in a battle for his life.
He needs someone who will remind him to throw single and doubles to the body, defend, reset, and slip to turnover some straight lefts and right hooks.
Sr will only solve some of the problems, he'll make ortiz more aware in the ring, which will help his defense and ability to slip and counter, but if he tries to make Ortiz throw fast arm punches like Floyd Jr does, like Oscar would do, like Francisco Bojado would do than I honestly don't see how that will work with Victor. I can see Vic getting tired later in the fights and when fatigue kicks in everything goes, both offense and defense. Meh, either way should be interesting if it happens.

He looked like **** during his last camp with Hatton. I thought Sr was like really sick or something, but if he's not that's great.
