FLOYD SR. is the best defensive trainer in the world but ORTIZ has to follow him like OSCAR did not like HATTON did.Anyway HATTON - FLOYD SR. worked in the fight with PAULIE MALIGNAGGI!!!GUZMAN and DAWSON also fought great under FLOYD SR.;everybody knows he is a primadonna but ORTIZ is weack mentally and he probably need a trainer with a huge ego like SR...we'll see but i believe ORTIZ-FLOYD SR. can work IMO!

why the hell ortiz would want to get with frauddy roach? he can't teach anything. he's riding on pacquiao's coat-tail. pac,khan,and julio HIGHvez jr all lost their last fights.roach couldnt box when he was fighting so how can he train that way.he knows nothing about making adjustments.

I think Ortiz needs a trainer who is less media-oriented and more culturally sensitive.

Because of Victor's situation, it may not work out with a thug/bully like Senior.

L Hunter, V Hunter, Goossen, etc. would be good personality fits.

Mayweather Sr. is training Mike Jones right now too. He mentioned maybe pairing up Victor Ortiz and Mike Jones together for some sparring.

The fact that Sr. can train any fighter considered a foe to his son says it all about him. A father should never train a potential opponent for his son. Sr. trained Oscar, Hatton, was willing to train Khan now he's training Ortiz. Sure Ortiz may never face Floyd again but Sr. still is a sorry excuse for a father. Money should never come before family. It's clear that Sr. has a problem with his son's success. Jack Mosley or Angel Garcia would never train a potential opponent for their sons.

I always thought Cunningham would be perfect for Ortiz. Hes trained multiple southpaw world champions in Spinks and Alexander. He comes from St Louis were they breed southpaws like mormons breed their young. He always seems to tell his fighters the truth in the ring. A former policeman who cares about his fighters. Just seemed like a better to me.
