Its a pattern though. Outside of Judah who still hasnt become a world beater at 140. I cant name any guys that were successful recently dropping down in weight.

The guy last 7 fights have been at middleweight.

Who expected Floyd NOT to hit 144 against JMM. We all did. But on 24/7 or whatever it was when he was like after awhile that weight just sticks to you and its nothing you can do about it. It makes sense.

Martinez hasnt shown anyone he can hit the weight safely and recent history really isnt on his side.

    We'll see.......

To everyone saying Martinez is ducking Ward by not moving up to 168 is ridiculous. He's already a small middleweight, he's been smaller than all of his opponents at that weight class. He also used to fight at 147 and 154. He's only 5'10". I doubt anyone will fight Martinez at 154 tho, and everybody knows Ward would beat Martinez too.

Didn't Iceman say Dawson can make 168 no problem~ pure speculation

If Sergio moves down to 154 and retains his ability, it's a smart move to get the bigger fights. If he doesn't, oh well. He can still clean out MW.

I agree that those are the correct odds on those fights. To bad for Martinez that he is still a high risk low reward fight for these three guys. I think they would all rather fight each other than take a pay cut to fight the dangerous Martinez. If Trout beats Cotto I think he would fight Martinez at 154 but Trout won't make Martinez that much money.

Most knew that was a disaster waiting to happen, we're talking about a very big/ lean LHW. Martinez on the other hand is a small MW.

Even if he doesnt retain his abilities, a fight with Floyd or Cotto will have him set "for life." And according to his people he's pretty good at managing his money so he should be good even if he loses. Even tho it sounds like he really wants that #1 P4P spot.

Yeah but that was Floyd coming off of a 2 year layoff, I also don't think it was a matter of Floyd being unable to make the weight, but him wanting to come into the ring at his strongest, he had that much respect for Marquez's skills.
