    Its not the same thing.
I know he weighs about 158ish for fights. Im just saying after 7 fights straight of being a middleweight. It could be hard for the weight to come off. Im not a big Martinez fan but for him to get Dawsoned would be a joke to the sport right now especially with the high Sergio is on right now.

Floyd couldnt even make 144 after fighting at 147 for 5 fights. I mean each case is different but history isnt on his side.

Hopkins made 156 to fight De La Hoya... it depends on the fighter. I don't think Martinez is that small or big of a Middleweight. He'll be a big Junior Middleweight who's calling out Small Welterweights. But when faced with fighting a guy smaller than the guy he last faced he won't even consider the challenge because this bigger man has the athleticism and skill to go along with his size. Martinez is like Bernard Hopkins... he's trying to make his name off smaller guys instead of just cleaning out the rest of his division to do it. He could fight Sturm, Geale, Pirog, Golovkin, and rematch Chavez Jr. but instead wants to fight guys he has no right to since he doesn't bring anything but high risk/low reward.

I doubt he moved up to stay at 154lbs... remember the last time he went to 154lbs he went back down to campaign at his true weight at 147lbs. Cotto and DLH were money fights and Martinez isn't. All the big fights happen because of money. Ward started at 160lbs and Martinez goes into the ring not much smaller than Ward. Ward was 176lbs vs Dawson while Martinez was 167lbs for Chavez Jr. Plus Chavez Jr was definitely bigger than Ward come fight night... Chavez Jr. was atleast 180lbs. It's less of a weight advantage for Ward than what Martinez would have on Floyd. It's ok for one guy to prey on a smaller guy but not for him to fight a bigger guy? Martinez will only fight a bigger guy if they have no speed, jab, or movement. Hell if Ortiz could make 147 and weighed 165lbs fight night than Martinez could do the same.

If Martinez fought a guy on fight night that weighs more than what Ward does fight night than what's the big difference though?
          HANDS DOWN.

          GREAT ****IN POST.

Im wondering if posters will now try to say that Martinez was the "real" reason for the PPV buys...lol.

It can be said of everyone to an extent. Floyd is running out of big money options if he wants to fight again. There's the Pacquiao fight which will probably never happen, then there's a rematch with Cotto or a fight with Canelo - neither of which anyone wants to see.

Sergio is the next biggest fight and its a better fight than any of those 3 imo. I don't know why people (Mayweather fanatics) are against it so much.

It really is if you watched that Rosado fight last night the guy he fought was 38 and looked old as fck.

Cotto, Pac and Canelo are literally the 3 biggest money options in boxing right now.

Im pretty sure his next fight will be against one of those 3.

Yeah and unfortunately it will likely be against Canelo which is probably the ****test fight out of the lot

If Martinez was a draw I would definitely want this fight to happen more than the other fights. I think the Pac fight is a one sided easy fight if it ever happens. Alvarez is still green and I think he can be easily outboxed and would be lost by the speed and movement of Floyd. But Floyd doesn't need to take an unnecessary risk and give Martinez all these advantages for a **** payday when he can go to 147 and fight Guerrero or Berto or someone like that for the same pay. Martinez is a little overrated IMO but the toughest guy out there for Floyd because of size and he's a solid hitting southpaw. I'd actually like to see him come down to 154lbs and prove me wrong by fighting Cotto, Trout, Lara, Vanes, or even ****ing Alvarez. Hell if Martinez exposed both of the WBC sponsored hype jobs he'd probably get to be a draw... atleast in Mexico lol. Barker and those caliber guys don't impress me just like beating 1 dimensional guys like Pavlik and Chavez Jr. The Williams KO was nice but honestly Williams to me isn't all that.
