Serious question. How is Martinez/Floyd the same as Martinez/Ward?

If Sergio is willing to prove he's the best why is he willing to go down to pursue fights with Floyd,Manny or Cotto; but not willing to move up to fight Ward. Sergio is searching for the payday not a challenge. But in realty he has to may flaws to beat Floyd at 154 or 160.

How many times has Martinez competed at 168??

How many titles has Martinez held at 168??

Has Floyd ever competed at 154??

Has Floyd ever held titles at 154??

Why can't Floyd & Martinez meet at 154 to fight??

How does a certain fanbase claim that Martinez moving to 168 is the same as a 2 time champion at 154 (Floyd) fighting Martinez at 154??
I don't see people saying Martinez should move up to 168 but I see a lot of people saying they'd love to see a catchweight fight with Ward.

Your questions are flawed because you don't take into account the fighters walk around weight. Floyd walks around at 150, Martinez walks around in the high 170s. Floyd won a jr middleweight title weighing 151, and that's his 5th weightclass. But of course it would be unthinkable for Martinez to fight a few lbs above his 2nd weightlcass...

Anybody who thinks Sergio would beat Floyd is basing it on size alone and that's it skills wise it's not close

My only question for BushBaby, since he loves talking about weight, is this.....how was Cotto drained at 145 against Manny when he weighed in at 146 for a lot of his recent fights???

Going by your Cotto-Pac logic that you've said on here hundreds of times, Sergio would be drained by fighting someone at 157 or so, let alone 154. Again, I'm going by your logic with regard to Cotto.

And you said that Dawson looked like he always looks, simply implying Ward beating his ass didn't have much to do with weight. You then went on to say Dawson's punch resistance was shot at the weight.

So what is it??? Is weight a factor or is it not???

          The facts are this......

          1. Sergio hasn't been to 154 lbs since February 2009, which will be 4 years this February.
          2. Sergio could have moved back down to 154 anytime since and put himself in line to fight Cotto, Angulo, Kirkland, Lara, etc. And he hasn't.
          3. The people saying "You're just speculating by saying Sergio can't make 154" are speculating already on their own by saying he can without a doubt make 154 fine and healthy.
          4. Sergio is in his 3rd weight class, his 2nd weight class that he's been technically a champion at. Floyd is at his 4th weight class at 147 and his 5th weight class at 154 lbs. Floyd fighting at 154, 24 lbs above where he started, would be like Sergio fighting at SMW of LHW based on where he started.
          5. This fight doesn't need to happen , but major props to Floyd if it did happen. People just want to see Floyd beaten up by a guy who's 2 weight classes naturally bigger than he is right now.

Martinez is a blown up JMW BUT he weighed 176 pounds 30 days before the fight.

            Only on NSB.

I personally dont have an issue with this fight. I think its a good fight but the fact is roots is held to a completely different standard than every active fighter today. Just the way it goes in the minds of most around here. So its OK for him to fight a guy who will probably outweigh him by 10lbs or more but that's completely unfair to Martinez for the simple fact that he's never fought at 168.

I'm not against this fight, it would be like a bonus to me. If it happens, GREAT, if it doesn't, fine. I just don't understand people who say it's the fight that NEEDS to happen, as if it's a logical fight or something.
