I was under the impression Top Rank has options on Martinez's next fight....no? I find it quite convenient of Golden Boy to start talking like this now, when TR would probably just set Martinez up with one of their own.

Bernard isnt that crasy. Yes Canelo has flaws and yes hes been protected but the dude can punch. Plus hes got some offensive skill. Obviously Serg is the more accomplished boxer but Sergs resume at 154 is less than ****ty. Paul Williams is a stick figure, Palvik was on his 3rd scotch, by the time he got ringside, Chavez' body has always been soft, and that Irish dude was even through 10 rounds so im not overreacting. The last 4 years have been great for Serg but hes a full blown MW now. At 37 years of age im not convinced he can maintain that speed and power if he cuts down to 154. It's easier for me to assume he will go back to being the good not great fighter that he was before. In a weaker 154 division in 08.

Yeah Barker and Macklin looked good, these were nobodies, Martinez probably didn't even take these clowns seriously.

Williams, Pavlik, Dzinziruk and Chavez weren't nobodies though. It's not a coincidence that Martinez makes men far better than Barker and Macklin look far worse. It's because he actually showed up. He'd show up again against Alvarez. It wouldn't be pretty.
Yeah ima go with this even though i like Canelo a lot now...I think Serg would beat the shoes and glasses off him quite easily in a devastating fashion. Canelo would be a sitting duck due to his lack of movement and if Serg catches him early like Jose Cotto did, he'll finish him quick..

Hopkins is basically a salesman for Gloden Boy, ofcourse hes gunna say **** like this.

Me i refuse to even achknowledge that ginger kids win on saturday, 30+ fights and then fights a 140 pounder! a stone over his natural weight.

That ginger kid should of knocked Lopez out within a round and Hopkins thinks hes ready for Martinez and Mayweather? I think Cotto will teach him a thing or two still.

Ginger can **** off and fight Julia in a battle of mexican cheating hype jobs.

Right firstly Canelo can punch against 140 pounders that is all he has proven thus far. Although Mosley has a great chin he should have been stopped by Canelo at that point in his career if Alvarez's power is anything to go by.

Didn't Hatton go 12 rounds with Canelo, a domestic level welterweight?.

I hope Golovkin goes down to 154 and ends another mexican myth fighter.

And im not against Mexicans in general, Mares is a superb fighter and that Beltran the other night looked classy even in defeat.

Alvarez' career at 154 is a joke and he campaigns there as a PPV draw, Sergio had trouble getting a decent opponent at 154 then beat everyone put infront of him at 160 as the top guy there to be shot at.

Slag off Barker and Macklin all you like but I think they have a shot at beating Alvarez who is more than capable of fighting at 160.

Alvarez is young yes but thets not pretend the sun shines out of his arse until he beats a legit 154 pounder.

Golovkin sparred with Canelo. They won't put him in with Golovkin if they know he'd get beat.
