This dude is too laser-focused on attacking two fighters. He's like a child. Boxing is a business. It's also entertainment. In reality, you can say all of them are ducks. Why is Martinez, for example, not moving up in weight and fight bums in that division? He can make money and put up exhibition matches in there and fight bigger, no name fighters. Who is stopping him? Or is he another chicken?

C'mon Trinidad? I have a strong opinion here, this is the guy who got me into boxing. He shouldn't have been at that weight, he hadn't grown out 154 he just wasn't getting ripped anymore, i know it was 157 but Hopkins went as high as light heavy. So what if Gomez retired Gatti, Ali was retired by Trevor Berbick! Gatti went thru Wars, i would question Tarvers ability to do that, even in his prime. But dispite what I've said you haven't required one equal to the physical domination of Gatti or Corrales, even against nobodys , im not aware of hopkins ever looking amazing. I will admit i lacking of knowledge when it comes to B-hop fights but if there was a great one im sure i would know about it.

Really? interesting? Since Martinez is a natural counter puncher and Floyd's gameplan for lefties is to walk them down I think Floyd would be take the lead. What makes you think Martinez will find a home for his Straight left when Cotto couldn't land his hook? And also, how do you think is faster hand? feet?

Martinez is bigger than Floyd naturally but I don't think the difference is 15/20 lbs. Floyd signed up with Marquez for a 144 lb. fight and chose not to make weight but come in at 146. That was a few years ago. Floyd looks like a piece of steel when he weighs in for his recent fights at 146 or 147. He has no extra weight at all. He has matured into a full welterweight. Martinez was fighting at 154 with no problems when he took the tittle from Pavlic at age 34. His natural fighting weight is still 154. He is about 7 or 8 pounds bigger than Floyd when both are at there lowest strong fighting weight in my opinion.

No, but if he stay at LMW and fights Canelo, then he's leaving himself open for judgement.

Answer me this: If Sergio goes down to 154 and beats Canelo, would you object to a Mayweather/Martinez fight? and explain why.
actually it not different at all other then the fact that Mayweather has had 1 Fight at 154 against Oscar before fighting Cotto...asking Mayweather to fight at 160 is no different because all know Mayweather is truly at Welterweight

If Sergio comes down to 154 then yeah I guess that would be make A LITTLE more REALISTIC but then to be fair to Sergio, I would be concerned about him coming down to 154 now and being DRAINED after basically spending his last 5-6 fights at 160

Because what will happen is that if Mayweather goes to 160 at lose, Martinez not going to get full credit for it, people will say he beat a Smaller Guy (even if People would be Celebrating over the fact that Mayweather finally lost) and if Mayweather beats Sergio Martinez at 154 then people will say Sergio was DRAINED

Wow, so you would rather Martinez jump up a weight class & beat up some bums instead of fighting in maybe realistically the great ppv event of recent years in which 2 of the top 3 pfp fighters in the world meet up at 154 & duke it out?? Well that's about the ******est $h1t I've ever heard in my life.

But who is asking Floyd to go to 160, can you name them?? Martinez said he'd meet Floyd at 154. There goes your entire argument.

Actually it is not different AT ALL...Mayweather has only had 2 Fights at 154 and it was a huge gap in between those fights at 154, then one of those fights at 154 he only made it up to 150 lbs then the second one he couldn't even keep the weight on and came in basically the size for a Weltweight on fight night (well according to him, not sure if he is telling the truth about being 147 on fight night against Cotto)

So NO it is really not all that Different because Mayweather is TRULY A WELTERWEIGHT just like Lopez is TRULY A LIGHT WELTERWEIGHT

So if Mayweather jump up to 160 it is really no different

No one is asking Floyd to jump to 160. Martinez wants to move down in weight to fight Floyd at 154, where Floyd fought in his last fight and is a two time champion. That is not in any way the same as Alvarez dragging fighters a division or two up to him.

And Floyd being 147 on fight night against Cotto is utter bullsh**.

Are you saying Martinez is always in a fight against the best opponent? Not everyone is as naive as you.
