Trout is unproven to me right now. With consecutive wins over Delvin and Cotto, i'd be convinced that he is a good fighter. Just a win over Delvin is as proven as Valero's win over DeMarco.

Very interesting responses. I've always personally believed that Trout had the tools to compete with the elite fighters in the sport. Cotto will be the beginning of his run.

As most know I'm a fan of both guys, but I honestly believe that Trout will win this fight & IMO he's a better fighter than both Clottey & Margarito at their best. Not drawing comparo's or making triangle theories but Cotto has struggled with his share of fighters, smaller & less talented than Trout.

Trout also has a very good jab. He's faster than Cotto & bigger, faster southpaws trouble the best orthodox fighters. Furthermore Cotto's face marks up easily now & a good stiff jab will do it. I simply hope at least Cotto will be competitive. I hate to see fighters I support get destroyed.

So if Cotto wins, he's still a good fighter. And if Trout does, Cotto is shot/over the hill. I told you BushBaby. I think Trout will win a close SD/MD.

um, that Trout is better than Cotto at this point and that winning 3 rds against Floyd hardly proved Cotto isn't past it?

Read my first post on page 1. I said if Trout wins, everyone is just going to say Cotto was shot and done, and Trout will get zero credit. These guys confirmed it by saying if Cotto loses to Trout, he's shot and over the hill. Trout will get no credit, even though Cotto is still a Top fighter around his weight and I'd favor him over anyone there other then Floyd, Lara, and Trout is 50-50.

Well, I'm pioneering the Trout bandwagon as we speak. I'll have this tread on standby to bump after Trout wins. See cause too many guys been on here saying that Cotto will mop im up. I know that's not gonna happen.

Like I said, I'm very surprised Cotto took this fight. I shouldn't be though cause he has more balls than the greater fighters of this era, which is a crying shame.

That's a bit of a stretch. I mean this will only be the 2nd time, if he wins, that Cotto won a non-vacant title against an actual champion. But big props for him taking this fight, I thought he was going to fight Bundrage, and I wouldn't have been upset with that really.
