Bush it looks like we made a ton of points betting on Trout. I only wish it was a 15 rounder, we would have seen the old Kneeguel Cotto again

The win is nowhere near in a dominating fashion. Even Cotto thought he got robbed. Trout avoided Cotto's left hook like a cowering kitty. It's embarrassing for a huge guy like him. Smaller Mayweather did significantly better and stood in front of Cotto. The holding is excessive. And I didn't like the ref breaking them up too early. They should have hired the ref in the Guerrero/Berto fight. Cotto just got tired of chasing a huge guy who is clearly in survival mode from the very start.

Trout was supposed to win this fight by KO. He didn't. He was up against a guy who is clearly in an uncomfortable weight class, on his way out and close to retirement. Not to mention the height and reach advantage.

This thread is silly in the first place. If you're too timid to make a prediction, then you're no better than a casual fan. WHAT IF threads are ****** nonsense. You want it both ways and you always tend to suit your agenda whatever comes out of the result.

You do know that Trout was the black guy, not the Puerto Rican, right?

Revisionist history happens a lot but not usually the day after the fight!

Trout was supposed to win by KO? He wasn't "supposed" to see the final bell! 95% of this forum were calling him "Feather fisted".

He was the underdog and the majority thought Cotto would win by dominant fashion or by KO.

You even had some jokers on here saying Trout isn't a legit opponent for Cotto.

Bushbaby, the topic starter, said early on that Trout would win decisively. He wasn't on the fence at all.

Berto needs that kind of ref, haha...

Holding and clinching is part of boxing. It also separates good inside fighters from others. And I would agree that the ref needs to give them time to fight it out during the hold before enforcing a break. Theoretically, excessive holding should be penalized either by the ref or the fighter. Much like what we saw what Guerrero did to Berto. Holding should be made a disadvantage. It also makes the fight boring and uneventful.
