I'll have some points on trout too if anyone wants it.

Outside of Floyd and Pacquiao, this is probably Cotto's hardest fight, taking the size into consideration.

What more does he need to say?

Trout has most of the attributes in his favour. Taking the size into account (and this will be by FAR the biggest man naturally that Cotto has faced)

He's also the natural 154lb'r, Cotto is masquerading at the weight, as do Floyd and Pacquiao when they fight there.

I certainly cannot see Trout winning. I think it's going to be competitive as Trout will be able to dirty it up, cut Cotto's work rate down and offer some movement that will throw Cotto off.

But Cotto knows how to cut a ring off as well as just about anyone. Sure Trouts bigger but Cotto has out-jabbed bigger men with bigger reaches before.

The most important part about this fight will be the pace. Unless you have Mayweather-esque skill the only thing we've seen trouble Cotto is making him fight at a faster pace than he wants to. Trout will not dictate the pace, he's comfortable at a similar place as Cotto and this will allow Cotto to chop him down.

8-4/7-5 type decision for Cotto, but a clear one. And I've always been high on Trout, style wise he just won't be able to win enough rounds.
7/5 is a damn close fight, I don't know if it'll be that close but I have respect for Trout's skillset, Bundrage definitely didn't want it with him..

I see a stoppage coming on, I'm not that thrilled for this one, maybe as the date gets closer, but I think it won't be very competitive, and I'm anxiously waiting for Canelo-Cotto which is the fight that looks like their building..

Being younger and stronger doesn't mean the fights his. How about breaking down the fight when making such confident predictions?

I gave a very real explanation on why Trout won't win, an example of how the fight will go. The best I've heard from anyone else is "he's younger, bigger, and faster". I'm sorry but that's not an argument.

And I'm not hating on Trout, I have ALWAYS been high on him. He's a good fighter and this is a legit challenge I think Cotto's got his hands full. He just doesn't have the style to steal a bunch of rounds and have Cotto tiring late in the fight. He doesn't press the fight like that and that's more or less the only thing we've seen that gives Cotto trouble.

But he has the reach and stance to give Cotto issues from the outside. A chess match will benefit Trout's physical attributes, so Cotto will have to make it a dog fight and out-work Trout. This will be a close one that could go either way. I'll predict a 115-113 SD for Cotto as he'll have won more rounds decisively.

Stylistically speaking height and reach has never bothered Miguel Cotto, Iron chin and relentless pressure, along with fast paced fights is what makes Cotto start backing up and fading..

If Trout makes it a chess match he'll get broken down and stopped, his reach is better, but Cotto will get on the inside simply using his jab and chop Trout up, I don't see this fight going 12

Cotto is a sharper more accurate puncher. Trout has also never fought someone who knows how to control distance and get in the contact zone like Cotto does.

I do not think that Trout can keep Cotto at the end of his jab and win the fight going away like that. No way. Cotto will out-jab him and that's how he'll get into a comfortable punching distance.

And Trout's already talking about how he's going to step around Cotto...please, Cotto cuts the ring off very well and his feet aren't quicker than Pac's or Floyd's who had trouble doing that against Cotto.

Cotto should not attempt to outjab a taller, faster man with longer reach.

Cotto will need to come inside and put his body attack to full effect in this one, if he can do that, it's his fight.

If they are boxing from the outside, or Cotto is taking time to set up his attacks and try to jab his way in, then I see Trout being able to control distance and pick him off.

If the fight is even at the midway stage, then Trout will knick it on points.

Cotto will need to start fast and attempt to wear him down.

but i'm not sure how much success he will have at that. As I've said, Trout is a big man, BIG. much bigger naturally than Margarito or Foreman, and not carrying prior injuries as both of them were

I think it would mean Cotto was overrated. Cotto has never defeated a real good 154 pounder. I do think Trout will win.
