It clear that is was not a real sparring session, it was just before the fight with Walker and Greb went to his gym to make weight.

It would be like if Judah sparred Sweat pea now, they are not going to go hard at it, especially the day before the fight.

Just added some extra points regarding the sparring session.

Yeah, I still have belief there is some Greb footage out there. Unlikely, I know. But I'm a dreamer

20 or so years ago there were rumours that footage of Greb-Walker was around. Whether or not they were true or not, who knows.

I know Jim Jacobs said he didn't have any in his archive. I believe it was Jacobs who had the sparring footage we see here, in his archive until it was released also around 20 or so years ago, give or take.

I hope one day, we get to see some. I'd love to see the Tunney fights.

And this is what I was referring to, on the point of common sense.

I knew this "sparring" wasn't serious, I read some excerpts of the newest Harry Greb book. Haven't got round to reading it in full yet. Have you?

"The Fearless Harry Greb" I believe it's called.

Although, it's been known since the footage came out.

But, even without that, it's just glaringly obviously anyway.

Let's face it, O'Brian had retired before Harry Greb have even had a pro fight. How old was O'Brian here, he must have been heading toward his 50's.

They were friends also, he's not going to pound an ancient Jack O'Brien into oblivion Is he?

I never understand how people can even go about ranking fighters all time. Not only are yo ranking across divisions but also generations.

"He was never in one spot for more than half a second," said Tunney. "All my punches were aimed and timed properly but they always wound up hitting empty air. He'd jump in and out, slamming me with a left and whirling me around with his right or the other way around.

"My arms were plastered with leather and although I jabbed, hooked and crossed, it was like fighting an octopus."

Greb was giving away 5 inches in height and almost a stone in weight to Tunney.

To me its juts like any other sport as far as rankings go. The only thing with boxing that I dont like is how people make them out to be unbeatable which is complete and utter horse shyt.

it's not easy, but it's certainly something that you can do if you're willing to put in the work. it takes time, man. lots of time.

once you have an understanding of their careers you tend to start to rank them in your head by default.
