Good decision imo if he sees it through there is no rush to turn pro he is young and only started boxing 3 years ago.

He's stated that he is no rush in this sport and will take his time as an amateur before turning professional. I don't think he's felt the true impact of having won a gold medal, the promoters will be offering some very lucrative deals that will get Joshua thinking.

If he turns professional now by the time 2016 Olympics comes around he could be a world champion fighting in front of 50k people. Whilst writing this I remembered the pro league the AIBA set-up, something which Joshua should avoid.

I honestly don't believe him. He may still stay amateurs and fight for a few more titles and maybe the commonwealth, but noway do I think he'll still be in amateurs till Rio.

He said he wants to win the world championships, so that's another year at least. I wouldn't mind him staying amateur for another year or two but I don't want to see him at Rio, he should be making his way in the professional ranks then.
