Mijares looked terrible in his past fight, and is obviously way past his prime. Rigondeaux would beat the crap out of Cristian.

In the position that Rigo's in, he can't afford to refuse any fight. Hopefully he can finish Marroquin early, and then get Mijares on B.A.D. before the year is up.

What are you talking about bro? He's looking at his options. He's with Top Rank just for this one fight. And GBP had the better offer for him.

not really..vasquez jr , poon, or rafa (even at this point is hell of a lot better than all of rigo's past opponets and the ones he's fighting now...im not really that sold on a nonito fight at this point coz nonito gets nothing from it...if he beats riog, peopl will just say he only got 10 fights and he was'nt ready...
Please tell me how WV2 is any better than Ramos, Kennedy and Marroquin. Please explain.

Dont forget coming off a long ass lay off. They're just hyping it up so Donaire can get mad props. I still got points on Nishioka tho. Its an ok fight but these people are hyping it too much.

Difference is Canelo never mentioned Lara and clearly has no interest in fighting him but Mares called out Rigo and there aren't many big names in his weight class.

Anyway, I started a thread touching on this topic a few days ago. The Marroquin match is a one fight deal Rigo agreed to with Top Rank, while they negotiate a possible extension. Apparently, Arum really wanted the fight on undercard of the Sept. 15 Chavez-Martinez PPV.

I'm not saying he SHOULD leave TR, I'm just saying if he stays then he can't complain about his promoter not giving him big fights. I said that Arum might be dangling the Donaire fight in front of Rigo like a carrot in order to get him to re-sign, but he probably won't give it to him. If he's allowing his promoter to use him without giving him the fight that he wants then it's on him.

Well then we'll have to wait and see what Rigo does next. My point is if he stays with TR he already knows the deal : a Donaire fight is not very likely to happen.

Damn I hope not. I'd rather see Rigondeaux fight Molitor, Ndlovu, Shimoda, Vazquez/Marquez winner, etc.

Though Rigo-Mijares is a crap fight, because Rigo will kill him, it still wouldn't have been the same thing as Donaire-Mijares. Simply because Donaire can pick from everyone at 122 who he can fight, Rigo is scrapping to get someone in the ring with him really. Still a crappy fight for Rigondeaux.

I'd rather see him fight Shimoda, Ndlovu, Molitor, or the Vazquez/Marquez winner late in the year, if he finished Marroquin early of course.

Also, haven't talked to you yet, but major props for Donaire fighting Nishioka.
