        Why do people act like Freddie Roach sets up Pac's fights?

        He doesn't, he just trains the fighters and talks smack on their behalf, that's it.

          He watches big name opponents and capitalizes on them when they're on their way down. Hey, its smart business.

            Prime De La Hoya still MURDERS him
            Prime de la hoya doesn't murder ****, no one murders Pacquiao - not Barrera, not Cotto, not Hatton, not Margarito, not Morales, not Bradley, not Mosley, not Marquez and not Mayweather either.

            You're talking about a fighter with a granite chin, lightning handspeed and bone-breaking power.

            At most he can be out-pointed but never destroyed and definitely not by a cheesestain like de la hoya.

              He's got a huge influence on who they pick..

              I'm sure Arum comes with 2 or 3 names to pick from and they talk the numbers and the odds of easy victory and what stips he'd want..Roach manipulates Manny and tells him to demand what Roach wants, between Arum, Roach and Koncz..I'd say Manny has about 10% of the say in his camp..

                The guy in your sig sets up Pacquiao's fights, you never hear MP say 'it depends on my trainer Freddie Roach'.

                Roach has often said who he wants Manny to fight and they've gone with another opponent.

                For the most part the money dictates the fights, you think Roach wants to put Pacquiao in with Marquez again? no, but Arum does. Roach didn't want him fighting Margarito either but again, Arum did. Roach just likes to talk smack.

                      it was one of the greatest wins in the history of boxing...

                      one of the best beatdowns that i've enjoyed in the 25+ years that i've followed the sport...for the following reasons;

                      1. it was the ultimate backfire on DLH's cherrypicking ass..DLH was supposed to fight the winner of Cotto-Tony but when Tony won, Oscar shamelessly picked a fighter who JUST GOT TO LIGHTWEIGHT instead...they tried to legitimize it by using PAC's p4p ratings and the whole thing blew up in their faces

                      2. DLH's arrogant ass thought that it would be such easy work that he could do it at WW...a weight he hadn't made in years and he got his ass thoroughly kicked

                      and most importantly

                      3. it gave DLH the reality check he sorely needed...the part time promoter/boxer finally learned that his time has passed...he was unceremoniously booted out of the sport in a fight that he hand picked...no more fighters tryin to line up for a DLH fight while ducking legit fights that should have been made

                      plus i hate Oscar...tool on the stool...good riddance

                      thank you PAC...no matter what happens, this fight fan is forever grateful for doing boxing that deed...Floyd picked Oscar apart but didn't do enough to kill the his confidence...PAC steamrolled that point across
