Give up the title or fight some real comp......

I have no problem with the guy developing since he is young.... But calling yourself "world champion" and wanting time to develop at the same time is an insult to boxing fans.....

If he isn't ready there is a few guys in his division who are..... Move out the way

Is it too much for him to fight someone in his weight class?

          He is a 154lb fighter isn't he?

I mean for fck sakes Lopez weighed in at 145 in his last fight!

As others have said, Canelo is a big name, and more importantly he has the belt(which he won in a sham affair against a regional level Welterweight). He has an implied obligation to defend it against guys in his weight class that actually deserve a shot. So far his defenses have been regional level British fighter Ryan Rhodes(awful), fringe world class Welterweight Alfonso Gomez(who gave him trouble but was undersized, sketchy stoppage), Kermit Cintron(totally shot), and Shane Mosley(totally shot). If he had no other decent options available, Lopez wouldn't be an awful filler fight, but unfortunately he has Lara, Trout, Molina, Rosado, K9, and if Golden Boy would push back the fight date only a little, Kirkland would become available. The fact that he is young can only mitigate things so much, he has lots of better options and his team/Golden Boy has repeatedly put him on the path of least resistance, and he is holding that belt hostage with weak defenses.

Huge difference between wanting him to lose, and wanting him to fight someone who might have the potential to be competitive.

And I know he tried to line up Kirkland/P. Will/Ortiz. And I would have been fine with any of those, but the fact that those fights almost happened, doesn't dismiss the fact that if he fights Josesito Lopez, it is a complete and utter joke.

He holds a belt in one of the deepest divisions in the sport, yet if the Lopez fight happens that will be four, let me repeat that four title fights against fighters who don't fight at 154.

There are plenty of options out there in that division, and he might fight f***ing junior welterweight.

Exactly. Heaven forbid people should expect him to defend his title against guys, you know, IN the weight class that he holds a belt in.

I want to see him fight one of the top fighters in his division considering he has a belt there and is ranked #2.

                      Not really asking for much.
