a real fan can appreciate pure boxing skills and this is gonna be a great fight. a great show of talent, skill and intelligence at the highest level with a whole lot at stake for both fighters.

You said it perfectly my friend. "fans" beg for a meaningful, legit ass fight, but then complain when 2 of the top fighters in their weight class fight, with no drama, no contract disputes, no testing requirements (although there might be), no bs. SMH at you boxing "fans" that are complaining.

According to Andre Ward this fight will have a 24/7! This is great news for the fighters in regards to the exposure to the mainstream public they will receive! Andre Ward will become a more household name after this 24/7 & fight!!!!! 2 American born fighters #1 SMW vs #1 LHW........

Yeah I don't understand the hate this is getting. I find Ward and Dawson to be a bit stale in the ring but this 24/7 bit is needed as they are new faces and the future stars. With that being said though, I hope they can put on a great fight and hopefully be more offensively minded to give the fans a better look.

I understand getting new faces for 24/7 is nice and all, but we already got all the Ward we can get in Fight Camp 360 over at Showtime. He's not a few face as far as I'm concerned. And Dawson is a pretty boring family man. There's not much else to him.

HBO didn't do a 24/7 for Bradley-Alexander and it wasn't on PPV either. Not sure what you're talking about.

Ward-Dawson isn't PPV either. While there was no 24/7 for Bradley-Alexander, HBO blew a huge portion of their budget on them with little very payoff at the end when we got a lackluster fight. Same is probably gonna happen with Dawson-Ward.

What fight could HBO possibly make that's not a PPV fight, thats bigger than this fight. The only reason why this isnt a PPV fight, is because absolutely no one knows who these guys are. If you want the sport to grow, you need to expose these guys to the casual HBO subscriber, or even a mild boxing fan. Maybe, some white guy in Idaho doesnt watch boxing, because too many "****** black guys" are ****y and just want money are fighting. This 24/7 can either change that myth for them, or make them hate them, either way it's necessary to make this sport grow. I can guaruntee HBO made this move to counter the UFC and their primetime shows. They have a primetime for every UFC PPV. Boxing should do the same thing, whether it be a PPV or not. the more exposure fighters get, regardless of what type, the better for the sport in general.
