So a guy has to fight like Tyson for you to enjoy his training sessions?

We can learn a lot about a fighter by watching him train. We can see how dedicated he is, how skilled he is, what he does differently than other fighters, etc.

I suggest Keeping Up with the Kardashians for your drama fix.

I'm all for anything that gives more coverage/wider exposure to boxers other than Floyd, Pac & Cotto.

These guys won't be around long and guys like Dawson & Ward should get their fair share of coverage. These are superb boxers.

HBO definitely need to start doing more of these, even if it's just a two part one for the next generation of guys. Your Broners, Canelos, Chavez JR, Khan, etc.

Can't believe some of the hate on here, it's ridiculous. If they bore you or you believe it's going to be boring, don't watch it. HBO ain't forcing you too.

if you want to see two of the planet's best boxers then it's right up your alley

alexander and bradley are not two of the planet's best boxers.

you really want to use the logic that the last time you saw two top guys in their primes fighting other it ****** to dissuade fights like this from happening?

bradley and alexander ******, so the top guys shouldn't be fighting?

              that's pretty silly.

it will be a chess match. if somebody gets caught, or down in a hole and desperate in the late rounds, it could be a good fight.

some of the best fights happen when you dont expect them to be great

martinez and williams was supposed to be boring. one of the best fights of the year, and the fight for which they will both be remembered. so good they did it again, and williams fell, making martinez into a star.

WOW! You dont understand context do you? I was speaking for the casual fan. Of course you and I know who Dawson and Ward are. To the casual fan, they want to see their vulnerabilities, emotions, family man type ****. With their fighting styles, their sparring and mitt work will look straight boring to them. their not gonna show some Pacquiao type heavy bag work. Thier training is not going to make or break this 24/7.

Exactly. The series should be about how two of the best pound for pound fighters in the world prepare themselves for the fight of their lives.

I want to know what Andre Ward and Chad Dawson do in training to perform at the elite level and prepare themselves for fight night. Not whether they would make good dates for my sister.

Agreed. I'm definitely interested in this as a chess match. It will be cool seeing 2 of the worlds craftiest bigger guys go at it. It's a very good match up skill wise and I'm psyched to see how it pans out. I think Ward will win but as long as Dawson isn't negatively affected by dropping 7 pounds, you can't count him out. Dawson will be the biggest guy Ward has ever fought, correct me if I'm wrong...

It means less money for other good fights that can be made.
I understand the concern there, but that fight was in January so I can see how that turned into a huge problem with 11 months left in the year. I don't know how HBO's fiscal calender is organized, but I'd assume they might have a better idea of what they're working with from now to September; and the remaining 3 months after that. I hope at least lol

I think this is a worthy risk to invest in this matchup (and Ward). like a poster above me said...Alexander and Bradley were absolutely NOT among best 'boxers' in the world ...that played a part into the trainwreck of styles we got that night.
