I'm not sold on the idea of a 24/7 between two guys who don't get the wider boxing public going. Huge credit to both guys for their skills and achievements, but IMO that shouldn't be the only consideration when it comes to doing a 24/7. Both may advance to be P4P king, but they sure as hell won't be carrying the sport in the future unless something drastic happens to either one's popularity/likeability. Boxing nowadays is so ****ing fragile that it can't afford to invest in the wrong direction, and for me, this is it.

HBO will have a 24/7 for Dawson vs Ward! How do you feel about this?

I almost jumped through the roof with joy when I saw that on the screen during the HBO telecast....YESSSSSS!!!!!
gonna be a good look for Chad...we ALREADY know Dre from the S6...time to get to know the BEST 175 pounder on the planet....I'm supprting Bad Chad all day in this one....nothing against SOG, but minus the B.Hop fights and the Eric Harding fight, I've ALWAYS wanted Chad to SHINE!!!...the lights will be on and I hope the East Coast bull does his thing!!....East vs West baby

this fight could very well be the ticket to the top of the p4p for ward
whether he'll edge out mayweather with this one win i cant say at this stage, but i think this is what will get the ball rolling.
and of course dawson has a chance to win himself. if he's going to win he's got to finally take that next step and let his hands go. i've always thought he's one of the world's best when he actually throws. the problem is that he doesnt throw. i think a boxer and style like ward might make him actually throw punches. with his speed and southpaw style he might actually touch ward up a bit.
ward via decision. intangibles win this fight.
not a bad plan for HBO to get people used to seeing these guys.

This is the Uncivil War - 2012 Edition.
When Roy Jones vs. James Toney met at 168 back in 1994. James Toney was #3 pound for pound champ at 168 and Roy Jones was #8 pound for pound champ at 160.
Except Roy went up to 168 which is what Andre should of done (go up to 175 in his case), but Dawson doesn't seem bothered by it.

I'm pumped about this having a 24/7. I am really tired of watching the same 3 guys on 24/7 all the time (Pac, May, Cotto). I know everything I'll ever need to know about those 3, and they are the same thing over and over again now. Bradley (and especially Bradley's dad) made the last 24/7. I think this could be an entertaining one, and Martinez-Chavez could have a great one. Would be better if they did speak English, but personally I'd rather have subtitles if they don't speak good English. It's hard to covey good smack talk and good back story if you struggle with the language.

I think it's a bad idea considering there is such a high possibly this fight will not be very exciting to the casual audience.
