Why is Lara getting all this hype?

Lara has real solid skills. Its is the type of fight if Canelo gets and he wins it will put him in the minds of a lot of fans that he is for real

Gotta say I'm on the Lara hype train but I expected him to destroy Hernandez.

Never thought he'd destroy everybody around 154 though.

He pretty much did beat the crap out of Hernandez. I don't see how Hernandez being tough as hell and taking a beating means Lara should be thought of any less.

seriously, how can you watch any fighter just once and then make up your mind as for how good or bad he is? especially if hes fighting such an unusual opponent like williams.

some go too far with the lara hype but he really is a top fighter at 154, hes very good and deserves the chance to fight the best in the division. its too soon to say hes #1 at 154 put hes no doubt good enough to get a crack at any of the top guys in the division so we can find out.

Looking at these two statements, who is the overhyped fighter here? BTW, try watching more than one fight before making a thread saying a guy isn't that good. Lara is a pretty good fighter, and actually has proven more at 154 against better competition than Alvarez.

I was thinking about it last night...how every fighter, has to look absolutely perfect, in absolutely every fight, or else they've been as "exposed as hype". It's ridiculous.

And to top it off, we've now got Canelo fans, saying that another fighter is over hyped. It's comical. I think this is just a way for Canelo diehards to dismiss Lara as a potential opponent.

I like both guys. I just wanna see 'em go at it.

Jangles hit the nail on the head. Watch 1 fight, make an assumption. I've watched all of Lara's televised fights on the big networks & all of ginger's on hbo. Lara is by far the more impressive. Didn't Hatton (not Ricky) go 12 with ginger?? I rest my case.

Not only went 12 with him, but tagged him quite a bit. If Hatton had the power to mess your hair up, it would have been a lot better fight.
