Has there been another fighter to blast through so many expectations as Pacquiao?

I agree on the lead up to fight, Pacquiao was favourite on those fights.
I'm talking about when the were first mentioned, it wasn't like Pacquiao going to lose, it was don't be silly Pacquiao doesn't stand a chance those fights should never happen. Less so with Hatton, but Cotto and Marg were considered monsters who would annihilate Pacquiao.
Look at the post fights interviews when on the Diaz and Oscars fights, even Arum was saying don't be ******.
That what I mean by saying he surpassed all expectations.Comment

Maybe but just as many if not more were pick Wlad.
Pacquiao was not given a chance against Cotto and Marg when they were first mentioned.
Were not talking some people the overwhelming majority, and a year a two down the line Pacquiao was the one making those fights a mismatch.
We tend to forget what was said at the time and like to re-write history after an event.Comment

Think about what you're saying. The guy was a known commodity before ODLH and a superstar after. How many superstars go into their fights as underdogs?Maybe but just as many if not more were pick Wlad.

You're trying to sell that "pac the giant killer" type angle. That entire idea was a marketing tactic for the casuals. Apparently you're one of the people it was aimed at.
Personally, I'm not even sure you watch boxing at all.Comment
