  • Time for Arum to step aside and let Todd Duboef take over...he is single handling ruining the sport with his GREED and obvious bitterness Towards Mayweather as well as Oscar for leaving Top Rank

he is ROBBING THE FANS of match ups...not just Pacquiao vs Mayweather match either, I would love to see Mike Jones vs Devon Alexander and/or Victor Ortiz, Chavez Jr vs Martinez, Chavez Jr vs Canelo, DONAIRE VS MARES

but yet fan want to point fingers at fighters for ruining the sport...BULL*****, it is these ***in leach money sucking promoters who only care about making money for their Promotion, even if it means PROTECTING THEIR FIGHTERS from possibly losing

    • All the while I thought the fight wasn't happening because of drug testing issues.

Last three years~ no Cotto fight the numbers used were posted by a Manny fan and include both gate and PPV revenue. Those differences are not negligable, on a percentage basis 15%. 15% difference on 100 million is 15 million.

        50+15=65 million
        50-15=35 million

40 million looks rather generous considering them splitting 100 million is a real high goal.

        • Are you sure it's about the split and Arum's disappearance this time, Floyd, or there's something else you're not telling us?

          Speak up, Floyd.

          • Team Pac need to cut this guy loose. You cannot have your S & C coming out and saying that you don't deserve the split you're looking for. WTF.

Say what you want about Team Mayweather (I maintain that when all Floyd's minions bark "hard work and dedication" is one of the most laughable things I have ever seen) but they run a tight ship, all pulling in the same direction.

With Ariza, you've got someone who's talking **** about Arum and Pac's choice of opponents while overseeing Manny working out. (see the Sechback interview).

I've said it before - all-time greats weren't built on listening to their S & C coach. If Ariza is as intrinsic to Pac's success as he thinks he is, then we've got a problem.

              Pick up the phone, Floyd.

You guys will lose interest in boxing once Pac retires. About 95% of the Floyd hate on the internet comes from one country. If Pacquiao were a ping pong player, you guys wouldn't even be here in this forum.

                  .
According to that math, it should be 55/45.

What people do not realize, however, is that there are other revenue flows:

                  Sponsorships.
                  Rebroadcast rights
                  Foreign rights.
                  Site fee.
                  Merchandising.

For example, Floyd gets a pretty good fee for foreign rights because his fights sell well in the UK. Meanwhile, Manny's fights are given away almost for free in his native Philippines.

Let's say that Manny accepted the flat $40 Mn, he could still make a buttload more in private sponsorships and in merchandising.

Floyd already makes money on his godawful t-shirts (who BUYS those?)

I have always maintained that the split should be close to 60/40 May/Pac.

Look at Cotto as a common opponent:

                  Floyd: $94 Mn ppv - 57%
                  Manny: $70 Mn ppv - 43%

                  Floyd: $12.0 Mn gate - 58%
                  Manny: $8.8 Mn gate - 42%

Take away the underpromoted appearance PPV's (Pacquiao-Larios and Pacquiao-Solis; Top Rank never put Floyd on shows like this) and the cumulative gap is smaller too. Floyd is still ahead, but not by as much and certainly not by much in the last 3 years.

Floyd had an eons better argument for higher than 50% in 2010 than he does now (and, reportedly, that wasn't an issue then).
I'm glad an unbiased person stated what I've been saying the last couple of days.

Floyd may sell more than Manny, but not by much and defiantly not enough to justify his ridiculous flat fee offer.

I feel it should be 55-45 in Floyds favor, but we have a bunch of parots trying to justify Floyds offer.
