How can people say 1.5 million PPV's, 94 million dollars, the 2nd biggest non-HW fight in history next to Floyd-DLH, and the 6th biggest PPV fight ever, was not impressive???

Cause they have it built in their head to try and diminish anything Floyd does.

Canelo can draw, what, like 50 million viewers in Mexico?

Mosley has been in, 1.2Mill[Pacquiao], 1.5Mill[Mayweather], 900k[DLH], I think 600k with Vargas, and then the cheaper PPV's like 260k[?] with Cotto, don't know what he did with Mora, must've been bad.

Anyways, this was the first Mayweather PPV ever, to actually advertise an undercard fight in their promotions, fight posters, and commercials. I'm not surprised that Floyd did 1.5Mill with Cotto, that's not the disappointment.

It's that Canelo-Mosley was advertised like a mini main event PPV, and the fight itself actually did have a vibe like it was the main event. Yet, it didn't make the impact on the numbers that I thought it would do. 1.5Mill is something I would be expecting for Floyd to do by himself with no help of an undercard.

People who would buy Canelo-Mosley likely would already be likely to buy Cotto-Mayweather, the same person can't buy twice as much PPV.

It's impressive, but you have to realize, Floyd is now by himself with the numbers he puts up. People expect these numbers from him. Since he got a little help from Canelo-Mosley, people like me expected at least 1.8.

Put it this way, Floyd is not only put to high standards with his opponents, but also his PPV numbers. If Floyd does 600k, that would be a gigantic flop nowadays for his standards, he would get ****ted on so much, it's not even funny.

But for Cotto-Margarito II, two of the bigge$t names in boxing from mid 2000-present, 500-600k was more than a success, it was like a "Wow, they did THAT much!?". For Floyd it would be "Damn, that's all he did?".

great numbers for the sport of boxing in general, UFC Jon Jones vs Rashad Evans did 700k so as long as boxing stay ahead of the UFC I am happy lol (nothing against the UFC)
