Well I'd assume they'd like to see him lose....?

These people would think "Oh, Shane Mosley, the guy who hurt Mayweather badly in that one round, I wonder if he can do the same to Canelo". You think they're gonna talk about Mosley-Mora? And you think a bunch of Dominicans and Puerto Ricans actually bought Pacquiao-Mosley? I mean I did, but I don't know many other people that did. I'm pretty sure the majority of the "1.3mill" were Filipinos.
The fact that the biggest fights of all time all fall in a relatively narrow range of 1.5- 2 million tells you that there is substantial overlap.

And those fights include fighters across the spectrum of fanbase demographics

Think of it like a data analysis project where you throw out the highest and lowest data points. What do the numbers tell you?

        • They're good numbers but to be honest I was expecting 1.8. The PPV had the most popular American boxer, the most popular PR boxer and one of if not the biggest Mexican draw at the moment in Canelo, added to the fact Mosley has garnered a fair few fans over the years

Well no since you didnt have to buy it on PPV here and I dont subscribe to Box Nation.

Your response makes no sense. I didnt say I watch Floyd to see him lose, I said a lot of people do. I cant believe this is news to some people but there you go.

You should aos post what they sold with other people.

Pac sold 700K and 1.15 million with Clottey and Margarito. Floyd sold 1.25 million with Ortiz. Floyd also makes money off the theater showings too.
I can't do that with Clottey because you have to realize that Pac's bout with Clottey was barely promoted by Bob Arum (it didn't even have a 24/7). You also can't compare the ticket prices of Clottey/Margarito with Ortiz because the tickets with Clottey/Margarito were much, much lower due to the fact it was done in a stadium.

              • you know what ????!!!!!! with all the promotion they did this fight should have done more !!!!!! cotto is a big name and mayfeather couldnd even break 1.7 hahah !!!! i bet if manny fought cotto on may 5th and titled the match revenge or out for blood !!!! it wouldve done anywhere from 1.8-2-0 !!!!!!! but cotto ran from a chance of redemtion in order to face an easier opponent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but at the end of the day i dont blame cotto from running from another ass whooping like this !!!!!!! he probably sees this replaying in his head every night before he goes to sleep !!!!!!!!!

Hell, if I had spent 300 - 400 dollars wishing that Floyd loses like Diggler, then I would be butthurt also

                  • With them kind of numbers Floyd won't be retiring any time soon.

                    • I'm actually surprised it wasn't higher considering they had the #2 and #3 biggest draws in the sport in america and the amount of advertising floyd spent (tens of millions)

These are still good numbers but its early in the year

Lets not forget the fact that Pac outsold floyd 2-1 last year and single handedly outsold every US PPV combined in 2012 and was the world highest paid athlete

So until the 2012 numbers are final. Pac is not only the P4P king, not only the highest paid boxer, but the highest paid athlete in the world
