Floyd is so stubborn. He should've executed the advice that Roger gave him after round one. When Cotto had Floyd pinned against the ropes, he aimed most of his punches upstairs at Floyd's chin and nose something that Floyd's previous opponents failed to do.

he did a lot of gesturing, but not a lot else.... he was sharp but not particularly effective.....
i think cotto's weight advantage and the fact they were wearing 10oz gloves is the only reason he managed to go 12rounds.

Floyd earned the W but wuts up with them scores?! They went toe to toe from round one to 11... Floyd dominated to 12th thats very clear but some of the other rounds coulda went anyway... Floyd was forced to fight cotto's fight, floyd was trying things that he would normally do and it was working. Some of these replies are crazy to read, Floyd admits that it was a rough right and some people on here is speculating, saying he was playing in the ring. If he really wanted to look better winning he would have, but he could'nt, becuz now he will be judged like pacman for his last fight.

I honestly think that Cotto forced Floyd to be out of his comfort zone by bullied and pinned him against the ropes, but at the same time, I think Floyd wanted to go on the ropes like he has always done in the past.Last edited by Carpe Diem; 05-06-2012, 06:35 PM.

Mayweather wasn't being stubborn. Cotto's size and physical stregnth advantages forced Mayweather into the ropes and wouldn't allow him out. Mayweather for the first time since the first couple rounds of the DLH fight was taken outta his element. DLH gt caught with a counter right in the 5th and decided it wasn't worth the trouble to continue to press. After Cotto's monent of truth in I believe the 4th or 5th, he manned up and kept pressing and made Mayweather outfight him. To his credit, Mayweather's skill level and toughness allowed him to avoid most of the incoming and **** when he was forced to ****.

All you none true boxing fans do me a huge favor!! Stop ****ing making comments on fights when you have no idea what you are talking about..anyone in this thread that claims cotto won, is not a fan of boxing but more then likely a fmj hater and don't know **** about boxing( in my roger mayweather voice). He won 3 rds and put up a hard fight(cotto) but at the end of the day came up Hirt against te greatest boxer of this time.
Let's be honest fmj could have easily boxed circles around cotto, but like he said he would, he stood toe to toe with a bigger man. And threw more punches then his opponent so all you Floyd haters pipe down.

I was interesting to see how compubox didn't account for numerous punches landed by Cotto.
That said, Mayweather was very uncomfortable in there. Particularly when he was hit by a clean left hook in the 5th round, he had a look of concern like "oh shyt I'm in a real fight".
