Green. Gamboa's been hanging around Mayweather too much, he picked up the "avoid fights because I just would have won anyway" mentality.

Rios was the attraction, not Gamboa. Rios has a MUCH bigger fanbase in this country than Gamboa would ever have.
Speaking of fanbases, after Cotto vs Mayweather breaks the ppv rcord that hoto mayweather is gonna take credit for the numbers, but WE all know its cause Canelo is bringing in the numbers for that fight...mexicans buy ppv, mexicans are the biggest fanbase for boxing in this country.

Gamboa could have easily signed for the fight, enter training camp, come to the weight in with fingers crossed & simply waited for Rios to come in overweight. Then he could have refused to fight right then, sue for damages & earn some easy a$$ money.

So Gamboa having a HBO contract means nothing to you.

Sorry but Mexicans are not carrying the sport of boxing. There are many fans all over.

So you going to say that Bute fan base in Canada is carried by Mexican boxing fans?

Mexico has great boxing heritage and has always been a super power in the sport in all aspects. You are being a little bit ignorant in your post. Canelo is huge in Mexico and in the east coast but Floyd is famous world wide.

Floyd took Laila Ali's road to the common boxing fan in showing up in popular commercials and it that Dancing With The Stars that has a huge rating, Floyd also was in the WCW or WWF (what ever its called) and got more exposure. Alongside being undefeated and a crap talker he is very popular.

Your dance partner in fight night has a lot to do how much you sell but to say that the sales are riding on Canelo is not accurate. It will impact cause he is on the card against another popular fighter but the mass amount of buys it is going to generate is not going to be cause of Canelo

I am a Rios fan and think that he is good for the sport but make no mistake Gamboa is no wimp. Gamboa vs. Rios would be a great fight! I hope it happens.

Rios may have the fanbase, but in no way would he have been the attraction.

Gamboa has that rare superstar talent, he's got every skill in the book. Rios on the other hand walks forward with his hands up, get's hit constantly and has nothing to offer but a good chin and being big (overweight) - Gamboa was the attraction, hence why he was getting the majority split.

Rios did prove to be limited in grappling. Gamboa needs to shut his trap and fight somebody.
