Floyd should have fought Juan Lazcano at LW though, instead of N'dou or right after N'dou at least. Castillo was the best LW of his era, very very good win for Floyd. Sosa was a Top 10 LW at the time, didn't mind that fight. I really wanted him to fight Lazcano after Lazcano beat Johnston though. But, Floyd opted to move up to 140 instead to fight Corley, Gatti, etc. No problem with that, just wish he would have fought Lazcano there.

I had Floyd losing by a point due to the point deduction, when I watched it live. He didn't look like a world beater in those fights, but he still won wide UD's. And I'm glad you mentioned Sosa. That wasn't THAT bad of a fight at that point. Sosa was a Top 10 LW at the time, and was robbed of a title win over Spadafora. And Carlos Hernandez was a Top SFW contender and would go on to win a title, and fight Morales later on.
But still, all I was saying is that Shane never really beat anyone at 135 aside from Holiday, Leija, and Molina. And Holiday was clearly the best of those 3. Floyd beating Castillo was far and away better than all 3 of those, and the Sosa fight was probably equal to Leija and Molina in terms of quality at that time.Comment

Molina wasn't in the Top 10. He'd done literally nothing of note since getting beaten by Oscar in 95.
Leija wasn't in the Top 10 but then creeped in the bottom half of the Top 10 when he beat a 40 year old Azumah Nelson who stopped him in 6 rounds 2 years prior. And a fight before that was stopped by Oscar in 2 Rounds.
Oscar deserves credit for the Leija and Molina wins, IMO. Mosley, does not.
The only legit win Mosley has at 135 is Holiday. That's it, really.
I was just pointing out that comparing what Shane did at 135 to what Roy did at 175 was ridiculous.Comment

So Floyd actually did a lot more by just beating those guys than ever did at 135.Comment

I thought Sosa won that fight, just my opinion. I was just pointing out that Floyd's win over Sosa was at least equal to Shane's wins over Leija and Molina. And Floyd's win over Castillo was light years better than Shane beating Holiday.
So Floyd actually did a lot more by just beating those guys than ever did at 135.
I'm sticking with Shane beating Floyd at 135, sorry man.Comment

I can't believe people think he would beat Floyd if they both were in their primes. Shane had too many flaws that he could never ever fix. Look at both fights vs Winky Wright and you will quickly get your answer right there. Shane is good but he relies too much on his speed and power and not enough skill to win. This is exactly why Winky beat him as easily as he did.Comment

PRIME...STILL WOULD NOT HAVE HELPED MOSLEY!
he always struggled against SKILLED BOXERS, that is why he lost to both Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright...TWICE EACH! IN HIS PRIME!Comment

H2H, it's a good fight, I'm rolling with Floyd on that one. It's all opinions. But Floyd did more at 135 by just beating Jose Luis Castillo, the best LW of his era. That's all I'm saying. And all I mentioned about Sosa was that win is equal to Leija or Molina when Shane beat them. That's all.Comment
