    i think WBC should have let Toney and Oleg fight for the title and keep Rahman the Interim Champ. lol.

    i just hope Oleg gets his title shot soon; he has worked so hard for it in the past several years.

      Ah, but the Russian sports media and for that matter the Russian culture in general is very different from the American sports media and culture.

        I would imagin Maskaev will now have to jump through another poddle hoop and fight JC Gomez next.

          I'm trying to figure why vlad is being considered here. The guy's chin has been tested and it doesn't look pretty. He kind of catapulted Brewster into the whole mix of things by getting knocked out. I'm not sure he is in the top ten he just has one of the top ten recognizable names.

            absolutely;

            one thing the Russian media can do though is publish interesting materials without being threatened by multi-million dollar lawsuits;

            as a result, you see many more types of news there that won't be shown here in the U.S.

              Not going to happen unless Don King dies. I honeslty don't think Maskaev is anywhere near deserving the title shot, he lost to any decent boxer out there. Which, by the way, tells a lot about Rahman, sucking his thumb on Lampley's lap after Maskaev landed a big one on him.

                Before the Peter fight I would have said that Wlad is not a top tenner but despite the fact he was knocked down three times in the fight he still won it, that and he showed heart.

                So you got put him in the top ten, but that doesn't say much, because Peter really wasn't ready for someone of Wlad's caliber. That and there really is no one else that should be in the top ten.

                I mean David Tua is in the top ten for goodness sake!!!

                  I agree. I just respect Maskaev for his hard work and for him being a genuinely nice person. I therefore wish him good luck and a title shot.
