it was at the refs discretion, otherwise floyd would have been DQ but he wasn't.
Floyd could have had a DQ loss to Judah?

and the ref was clearly on mayweather's payroll as usual so he shouldn't be trusted. roger didn't just enter the ring for a split second on accident. he charged into the ring and started attacking the other boxer. if that's not a dq'able offense then what is?Comment

intentional low blows?
not to mention it was during a time out when roger entered
42-0, you hate to see thatComment

acctually you got it twisted. the ref already called time when roger stepped in the ring, so even though the round wasnt over the "action" so to speak was temporarily halted. The difference situation is that Floyd cornerman broke the rule when inside the ring during a round whether it was on a time or not the round was yet to be over. Whether or not Joel went into the ring after is irrelevant. Fact is Roger broke the rules went in(first) there for "surrendering" Floyd fight.
While Molina cornerman didn't break the rule, the round was over and went inside the ring. The timekeeper messed up by wrongly ringing the bell while the count was on.
you cant be saved by the bell in any round though, so the fight was still very much going when molinas cornerman stepped into the ring. even if the bell rings the round isnt officially over until the ref recognizes molina beat the count and is fit to continue, then he tells molina and kirkland (whos standing in a neutral corner, not sitting in his own) to go to their respective corners. then and only then is the action officially halted.
the timekeepr did the right thing btw, hes supposed to ring the bell to indicate the 3min are up and not wait for the count. the bell indicates the 3min are up and the ref indicates when the count is done, which is when the round is over even if the bell already rang.Last edited by #1Assassin; 03-25-2012, 04:56 PM.Comment

so the first time someone throws a low blow they should be dq'd? yeah that's reasonable, but letting a maniac come into the ring and start choking and punching the other boxer is ok if the ref said time!Comment

It's under the rule.
When the bell rings the round is officially over. That's the rule. The rule states you can't ring the bell while the count is on. There is when the the "you can't be save by the bell" comes into effect. Because, the bell can't ring to save you.
ABC rules: During the round, seconds (b) Must not mount the stairs or apron or enter the ring until the bell indicates the end of a round.
Under the ABC referee guidelines: "The bell to the the round should not be sounded by the timekeeper during a count."
31. OFFICIAL END OF THE ROUND
The round ends when the bell sounds to end the round.
^^^That is the rule.
Texas state commission rule 61.41. Responsibilities of the Referee
(k) Knock-downs
(6) When a round ends before a contestant who was knocked down rises, the bell shall NOT ring, and the count shall continue. If the contestant rises before the count of ten, the bell shall ring ending the round.
61.45. Responsibilities of Timekeepers.
(a) The timekeeper shall give a ten second warning before the end of each rest period. The timekeeper shall sound the bell only at the beginning and end of each round.Comment
