Ward still doesn’t have a scheduled opponent for his next fight after taking care of Carl Froch with ease last December in a one-sided 12 round decision in the Super Six tournament. Ward watched Martinez’s 11th round TKO win last Saturday night against Matthew Macklin and had this to say about it: “I’ve never seen Macklin fight, but pulling for Martinez for a possible fight between us. Good win for for Martinez. Did what he had to do. I’m ready!!…I’m ready for whatever.”
    Force = mass * acceleration

A guy like Andre Ward walks around at 190 or more and when in fighting condition, he weighs in at 168 and rehydrate back up to 180 or so. Sergio walks around at 175-178 and weighs in at 160..re-hydrates up to 165-166.

That means that as it is now, Ward is on average, 14 to 15 pounds heavier than Martinez is on fight night, not to mention that Ward is 6 foot tall while Martinez is 5 ft 9in or 5 ft-10 in. Martinez even had a smaller frame than Macklin did and it was clearly visible in the ring.

I applaud Pac for being able to fight in all these different classes but he has been doing it with catchweights and I think WW is the highest he should go in weight.

Another thing is that in the lower weight classes the pound difference between classes isn't as big as when you jump up in weight. You are comparing jumps of 3 and 4 pounds to 7 pounds per class over 3 classes.....that's like saying that 12 pounds is the same as 21 pounds....which obviously, is not the case.

Chavez weighs in at 160lbs. If Ward or Bute or whoever you want to protect Floy....ooops I mean "fight Sergio", come down to 160, then you would have some kind of point here.
Their are no lines to read between. Actually go read actual posts...when have I ever been against a Mayweather-Martinez fight? I want to see the fight happen because I don't believe sergio can defeat him but that doesnt mean I can't pose questions from the other point of view.

I am just used to seeing guys move up multiple weight classes challenging the competition ahead of them thats all. Not really used to seeing a guy slurp fighters 2 weight classes below them.

Bernard Hopkins did it and he was a much bigger man at MW than Sergio.

Difference being that Sergio is coming down to weight classes that they have already fought at. Hes not making them jump two weight classes. And Floyd is fighting at 154 now so hes not asking him to jump ANY weight classes.

I dont know, why is that relevant?

Does Ward weigh in at 160? Or is he willing to?

Bernard called out Oscar and Tito when they were legitimate 154lbers though and they moved up to challenge him for his MW title. As a matter of fact OScar was a MW....

when has Pac or Mayweather campaigned at 154 or ever fought at MW?

Floyd is fighting @154 or he is having 1 fight at 154? As of NOW nobody knows if he is going to campaign at that weight

just because a fighter is knocking people out in his division doesn't mean he should move up. he's a small MW as it is. martinez doesn't belong at 168. as for him calling out chavez jr., i believe that's all business. chavez jr. is big but he's low risk. martinez is 37 and chavez jr. looks to be the most realistic big payday he can make.

Tito Trinidad's best weight was 147lbs. Oscar's was too. And they fought Hopkins at 160 where they'd had 1 fight each. Oscar was terribly schooled by Sturm in his one fight so saying he was a MW is pretty dumb.

Mayweather is about to have his second fight at 154. One less than Trinidad had at that weight. So really, whats the difference?

manny has beat ww that were all looking like **** before he beat them cotto controversial win against clottey margarito getting a pounding by mosley than being suspended for cheating and a shane mosley that had not had a win in about 3 years at that point so yes manny has beatin some ww but he beat them all at their worst but yes manny is a small ww just like sergio is a small mw.
besides pavlik the other 2 mw sergio knocked out were bums to you haters so why should the fact that sergio knocked out bums mean anything?it's funny how 1 day sergio is too big to fight manny or floyd at 154 than another day it's why doesn't sergiop fight kirkland at 154 sergio can still make 154 he just weighed 157 i don't know where this sergio hate has come from but it is really making alot of you into hippocrits sergio is a huge mw one day than another day he can still fight at 154.
why does sergio have to move up?if ward wants to fight sergio why doesn't he come down to mw?why is it that you all always want sergio to make the sacrafice if anything sergio is higher on the p4p list and is more recogmized by the mainstream so i don't understand why should he move up.

pacquiao started his career at 15-16 sergio started his career at about 27 now tell me how many weight classes manny has fought in from the age of 27 till now

I don't know the answer to this but Sergio said he would fight at a catchweight of 164lbs. He said this himself
