Not sure about that line of thinking, comparison, example.
You're taking this very seriously and going in to a lot of detail. I'll try one more time.

    It's pretty simple.

Look at Hagler's last 4 wins before Leonard. Look at Martinez's last 4 wins. Look at how the fights ended, look at what weight class they did it in.

TS is trying to say, that if you are able to knock out 3 straight guys in a row in a weight class, that you should be able to be competitive at a higher weight class, and not be too small.

Either way, I mentioned another example, which I am pretty sure you understood. Orlando Salido winning by TKO in his last 4 fights, so maybe Salido should move up 8-9lbs to LW?

I understand you are nitpicking my examples to get a debate, and you kinda did get a small debate out of me. But really, I can't simplify it any more.

Where did I say it's all about belts? Look at Floyd, took on the #1 welter and told the WBA to go fck themselves. Who cares how many belts Sergio wins but if he beats quality fighters and gets paid doing it he'll be set.

That aint true,i remember this from the conference

        Williams
        :" Sergio probably weighs around 176lbs "
        (at the rematch press conference)

Then it all spread to the media like it was fact

that's where all the weight rumors started from, Williams and his coach who were screaming that he's struggling making weight.

        then what?
yeah he got knocked the f@k out in one of his best performances.

Mosley wasn't the best fighter at 147. Mayweather has never fought the best fighters at 147. So why should Sergio? Sergio-Steiglitz ftw!

And, the TS was trying to say that higher weight-class being 168 or even at a catch-weight of 164 not 175.

And, for Salido you can use 130. No need to go to 135.

Mosley was the best welter at the time I don't care how you try and spin it. Cotto wouldn't rematch him, Team Pac turned Mosley down, and Floyd came out of retirement and fought him.

Maybe Angulo had more of a recognizable name than Ward.

Martinez has contradicted himself a lot....Even with the whole catch-weight thing.

I would take what Martinez says with a grain of salt.
after the williams fight sergio was 1-1 he still was not considerd as great as he is considered now and angulo was one of the more recognizable 154 fighters which sergio was just campaigning at before the williams fight but that was a couple of years ago now that sergio is sergio no one outside of floyd or pacquiao is he willing to enteratin a catchweight for just like manny didn't want to fight marquez at 140

                • Since when did boxing all of a sudden become about fighting in 4 different weight classes?

No the rumor started with actually having to step on the scales. The WBC has a rule that you have to weigh-in 30 days before a title fight.

30 days prior to the fight. Martinez weighed in at 176 and P-Will at 162. The fight was at a catch-weight of 157.

What P-Will said is that Martinez probably started camp at around 200lbs since he was still so heavy 4 weeks left to the fight.
