If you look at my P4P list its filled with Mexicans because they seem to fight each other without huge paydays, something most other fighters dont do. Boxing needs some changes soon, so the best fight the best.

you should know by now that as soon as an American prospect beats someone with a name they are on the P4P list and move every one else down.doesnt matter how many years of hard work and domination the Barrera's and Morales' spent beating top fighters.Does this seem to happen al to often?Yes it does, Tzsyu was wipped off when he lost and Hopkins wasnt.

The way i see pound for pound is if every fighter weighed the same..who would win. At this moment my opinion would be...

      1. Mayweather
      2. Winky
      3. Cotto
      4. Barerra
      5. Morales
      6. Hopkins
      7. Hatton
      8. Castillo
      9. Chico
      10. ME (lol)

It's all them sombreros they wear, it weighs 'em down on the list.

yup, very much.Do you think the terms P4P fighter and styles make fights contradict each other?

I agree, i dont like seeing Taylor on a top 10 P4P list and i dont like people telling me Morales isnt top 5 P4P because of one loss at lightweight. I dont know if you would agree but i still have Tszyu top 10(number 8), i know he hasnt fought much but i cant think of many fighters P4P that could beat him, his loss to Hatton was more about Hatton's style than Tszyu's general ability. If Hopkins got beat by Taylor(who isnt bad but very green) then i'd imagine he'd get beat by a hell of a lot of people P4P, he's my number 20.

That's a very good point actually, and if I may be serious for a moment, this does throw up the fundamental flaw in such a list.

I really don't like Hatton's style that much. I think it looks ugly, and unsophisticated, in the main. He's actually a much better boxer than he looks asthetically, but even so I can't see any situation where you could say Hatton was p4p the best fighter on the planet. I CAN see why you would say it about PBF.

YET... I think Hatton would actually be the person to remove the "0" from Mayweather's record. If he did (and I'm talking a 50mil bet, I've got that feeling in my bones) would that then put Hatton at the top or just make Floyd overrated all this time? I think people - including myself - would probably lean towards the latter.

My p4p would have to include old school guys like Barrera and Toney, without a doubt.

Another point.... when you talk about p4p in today's boxing world, do you find yourself struggling to think of ten really great boxers, rather than arguing about who didn't make it?

I try and think of 10 of the elite **** who didnt make it.Personally I think they should make a top 3 guys P4P only and forget the rest. That doesnt leave room for arguments and how far will a great fighter fall of to or even off the list.Guys should start cleaning out their divisions to be considered p4p fighter like the good ol days.

I agree entirely. It also makes a mockery of the p4p list - it's a theoretical list of assumed talent, not achievement per se, right? - when old man runners like Hopkins are in there because they've got 20 defences on their resume.

No I think Hopkins deserved to be p4p king cause of those 20 title def.He proved he could clean out the division, doesnt matter how he did it.Now a days you got fools jumping weight divisions to fight other wack fighters in other divisions instead of cleaning house and proving what his big mouth has to say.
