You guys sound ******ed for real. Chavez is a BIG guy but that just means it's that much harder for him to make 160. Does Ward weigh in at 160? No, he doesn't, he weighs in at 167 and rehydrates up to nearly 180. Chavez weighs in at 160 and rehydrates up to 176-178....which is really hard on his body.

Chavez jr is only 6 foot tall, Ward is nearly 6 foot 2 inches like Bute....Martinez is 5 foot 10.

Martinez started at 147, went up to 154, then went up again to 160....but yet you guys think he needs to be fighting bigger guys still?

Give me a break, go tell Ward to offer to fight Pascal or BHOP or Cloud...that would be appropriate. If Martinez can cut the weight and get back down to 154, why are you guys crying about it....after all, he did fight 90% of his fights there right?

Everyone that Martinez fights is bigger than he is, check the stats. I know that he is so good the thought of him ever facing one of the cash cows of the sport is a scary thought but that is just part of being one of the best so deal with it.

He only moved to middleweight because no one would fight him at 154 now everyone wants him to move up again?
Unless of course you mean height when you say "frame".

They are WAITING FOR YOU ***AVILLA!

a true p4p sch!t post if I've ever seen one. Tell Dirrell to stay retired, stay ducking. Tell Ward to make 160 and Martinez will commence to break him to bits like he does everyone else. Froch is gonna get his a55 beat by Bute anyways so his career will be over here shortly.

What you're saying doesn't really add up.
What does being more "muscle bound" have to do with it? Is he the same size as any of those men? No.

Why would he fight for Dzinzurik's title? What would be the point? Dzinzurik obviously wanted a shot at the MW championship.

Martinez only fights bigger fighters when they dont have the boxing skills, like Williams or Pavlik, and that's why he wants Chavez because he's a slugger.

But when bigger fighters WITH BOXING SKILL want to fight him, THEN THAT'S NOT FAIR LOL!!

Chavez is 6'1, he was bigger than Rubio who is 6'1 too, and Chavez weights more than many Super Middleweights at fight night, with an average weight per fight of 183lbs.

Andre Ward is only 6 feet tall, here with 6'1 Carl Froch

I actually think that Chavez Jr has a really good shot at beating Sergio. It looks like Martinez isn't to comfortable fighting guys that apply descent pressure.

Depending on how Chavez fights, he has a damn good shot at winning a decision.

Why is he trying to go back down in weight if he wants to be considered the P4P best? That's pretty unheard of. Mayweather and Pacquiao earned there status by going up in weight to challenge bigger guys for their titles and neither one of them ever weighed in over 150 lbs and Mayweather even claimed to have went back down to 148 on fight night against De la Hoya. Martinez has fought five fights in a row as a middle weight. It's safe to assume that after 5 fights in that division that he should be considered to be a full fledged middle weight. I don't know how anything else could possibly be argued. I know Martinez is a good fighter and a likable guy but to follow Dibella's cue and buy into his ridiculous assertions that Martinez is not a real middle weight and that the 168 lbers are too big for him but the 147 lbers aren't too small is pretty asinine and implausible. He's not going to be able sell this bill of goods to the boxing fans. Sorry.

Martinez is fine with fighting skilled fighters as long as they are smaller. If a man is bigger than he can't be as skilled ie Pavlik and Chavez.

I respectfully disagree. I think the reason he would fight pavlik and chavez is because he knows his skills are better than pavlik's and it was a great opportunity to beat a good fighter. The reason he wants pacquaio and mayweather is because everyone thinks they are the best in the world and he wants that title for himself. They are also much much bigger draws than ward or bute. The chavez thing is both that he's an undeserving champ who has had the easiest road which I think sergio rightfully resents. But its also that they stripped Martinez of his belt and let chavez fight for it. Hes also also a big draw for some reason.
