Is Cotto's power overrated?

He hasn't carried it up to junior middleweight but certainly at light-welter (breaking Malignaggi's jaw) he had awesome power. He has faced people with good chins though - Mayorga, Margarito, Mosley... I do think his left is better than his right though. Obviously he's left-handed so naturally it would be.Comment

How about better than average but he's not a power puncher?
Or he is a good puncher at the world class level but not a great one!
There are and have been many fighters with good power even at the world class level, but there is a differance between that and being a great puncher. Ken Norton had world class power but I would not consider him a great puncher.

How is his power overrated? In Jr welterweight the only fighter he didn't stop was Paulie Malinagi. In welterweight the only guy he didn't stop was shane mosley. But he has stopped everyone in super welterweight/Jr middleweight. To add to the equation, fighter that he didn't stop has WORLD CLASS chins!!!!
Give Cotto his well deserved credit.Comment
