Give Cotto his well deserved credit.

very overrated, he doesn't even hit harder than pacquiao yet alot of people seem to presume so
i think only his left hook to the body is above average, other than that he is definitly no power puncher

At one point it was overrated and now it's actually beginning to get underrated. Cotto is a thudding power puncher not an explosive one shot ko puncher.

              Great body puncher though.
              Wouldn't argue with that.

Hard puncher, at the higher levels he is not taking guys out, but that is normal. He doesn't punch as hard as Shane or Pacquiao, but he has stopped plenty of world champions, and put Clottey down with a jab, so you know he is carrying some serious power. He has good timing and his technique is not to load up with single shots, but to throw fluent, compact, hard combinations. He doesnt like to be off balance, and his technique plus dominant hand leading, might be the main reason he doesn't often hurt, kd, or ko fighters with single shots.

I don't think that his power is devasting but he has excellent power. Trinidad had the power to change the fight with just one punch he doesn't. I do think that if Cotto had more speed his power could be considered great because it would carry more force behind it. Cotto's problem is that he has to set himself to land the power blows if he had more speed we would see him take out guys easier. Overall his power is not devastating but he has enough to hurt you. Guys like Tito would drop you.

I disagree with Pac having more power. Pac has more speed so he catches guys easier and with different angles. If Cotto had Pac's speed he would be a devastating puncher.
